The Rex Hotel looks luxury online, but the experience doesn’t live up to it. We stayed in the Hugh cabin and had multiple issues: unstable floorboards, poor heating (it was freezing even with the heat set to 86°), drafts from the sliding door, low water pressure, and a non-working light switch. For a “luxury” property, these basics shouldn’t be problems. The worst part was the customer service. I contacted them during my stay (with maintenance coming to the room) and again afterward requesting a partial refund. I was told twice it was escalated to management, yet 12 days later I received no response. Even worse, the company later claimed they were never contacted during our stay — which is simply untrue. I wouldn’t drive two hours to stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it. If something goes wrong, expect poor communication and low integrity rather than accountability

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A-Class Winter Getaway We started our trip in Florida and headed north in search of snow, making stops in Atlanta, Nashville, and Detroit before landing in the Poconos. “The Rex” kept showing up in our hotel search with beautiful photos, so we decided to give it a try — and it did not disappoint. We stayed in the Arnet Room and felt welcomed right away. The space was clean, thoughtfully stocked, and had special touches that made it feel inviting. Before arriving, we watched the owner’s YouTube videos, which added a fun bit of history and context to the stay. One of the highlights was accessing Promised Land State Park directly from the property’s trailhead. Our walk through the snow‑covered pines felt magical. We also did an ATV tour about an hour away, which was invigorating and absolutely worth it. The property is well maintained, and staff comes by daily to keep things clean. The only downsides were the “dynamic pricing” and the lack of on‑site human presence, meaning most communication happens through text or calls. Still, overall, our stay was excellent. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature, this is a great choice.

I chose The Rex Hotel because of the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor and its perfect location for places we wanted to visit while leaf peeping in the Poconos! I originally booked one night and then after our arrival booked a second night to ensure we could stay put in cabin 8, the Walnut! This adorable hotel is central for a mountain getaway with Hawley, Milford, Shohola less than 30 minutes away in various directions. It was ideal for visiting our favorite waterfalls, restaurants, and Promised Land State Park, with a trail right on the premises! Our cabin was modern, nicely decorated, very clean, and had the most comfortable king bed. It looked exactly as described on the website. It was pretty chilly at night and we wanted to take advantage of the cute sitting area with a Solo (fire pit) out our back door so we had reheated leftovers from dinner, wine, and S'mores for lunch in the brilliant Fall sunshine...doesn't get better than that!! Note: fire wood, starters, kitchen supplies (but no toaster), coffee packets all included

Very seamless check in, lovely rooms very well equipped and great infrastructure to disconnect from the city. The sauna was a great feature.

Perfect for what we needed. All the amenities and nature all in one. We enjoyed the sauna, the outdoor games, walking around outside and just relaxing by the outdoor fire pits (even when not having a fire). Relaxing and beautiful. What a blessing. Thanks!

Small, but attractive and very functional room. Bed excellent. Had all the things you need to eat in with either take out or microwavable. The owners did an excellent job of updating the buildings and the grounds. Unfortunately it was raining so we didn't get to sit around the campfire in the back garden, which faces the forest of the State park. Photos are accurate.

Enjoyed Rex very much. Comfortable, stylish, well located. Rooms small, but lay out incorporated everything we needed. It rained so didn't use the fire pits in the back yard

酒店回复: Thanks so much for your feedback, Kathy! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at The Rex. It’s too bad the rain kept you from using the fire pits, but maybe next time the weather will be on your side. Hopefully, you’ll get to come back soon! :)

Wonderful!
We had a wonderful two night stay at The Rex! I loved the stylish design aesthetic of the hotel and the attention to detail. We were there for the eclipse, and we appreciated that they left us a welcome gift with eclipse glasses and a cute little reusable tote. Each room has their own fire pit, and we made s’mores each night. We hiked allover Promised Land State Park which was accessible on-site at The Rex. We plan to go back!
