In my opinion, I would avoid, avoid, avoid this hotel at all costs. While it boasts reasonably-priced brand new rooms with attractive bathrooms and high ceilings in a great Old Montreal location, that’s about it. A sewage flood from the upstairs unit flooded our room and the hallway. Without any staff on site, Concierge services were completely unable and unwilling to help in the slightest, leaving us standing with our luggage outside in the wee hours of the morning. We had called the Concierge service multiple times after leaving the unit, and they assured us that that an emergency team, management, and on-site staff were en route, but when we tried a follow-up call more than 5 hours later (9:45) the Concierge was comically unhelpful. She told us “We are acting on this emergency as quickly as possible” and when I asked to speak with the manager/on-site staff that was supposedly "responding to this emergency", the Concierge told us that “they (were) on break at the moment”. This was literally becoming a Kafka novel, and when I asked the Concierge when we could expect to hear back from a manager, she replied “24 to 48 hours”. We had gone from Kafka to Police Squad-levels of unbelievability. I don’t know what a client (or worse, a family) staying at this hotel would do in this situation. Imagine being sewaged out of your hotel room at 4AM and that’s it. Nothing. No offer of another room, no assistance, you’re just sitting in the hallway, wondering what to do while “customer service” tells you outright lies and couldn’t help you even if they had wanted to. 12 hours after the flooding, we were offered credit for the room stay as compensation. Not a refund, but credit on a future Sonder hotel stay. Caveat emptor, I would not recommend booking a room at this hotel until they have someone available 24x7 to manage the site and deal with situations like ours, and the other ones complained about in other reviews. There’s a regular Sonder hotel literally a block away, it would have taken minimal effort to send someone, and to offer a room in the other hotel immediately. Just the worst customer service imaginable.

Dear ThomasKrul, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry for the distress and inconvenience caused during your stay, particularly under such unfortunate circumstances. A situation like a sewage flood is completely unacceptable, and we regret that our response fell far short of your expectations, and ours. We understand how frustrating it must have been to not receive timely support, and we apologize for the lack of clear communication and resolution when you needed it most. Your feedback highlights critical areas where we need to improve, especially regarding on-site support and emergency protocols. Please know that we are actively reviewing this incident to ensure better preparedness and responsiveness moving forward. Should you have any other inquiry, please do not hesitate to contact us, Regards, Nott Laurent-Gonnet Hospitality Supervisor

It was a great location to explore Montreal. On the less touristy end of St. Paul West. Despite being over a wine bar it was quiet. They are respectful about shutting off the music by 11pm which was fine with me. Room was great, bed was comfy and shower was hot, ticks all the boxes.

My first sight of the new and unique hotel room was interesting: this was an apartment building and it has a restaurant downstairs. I asked myself whether I dreamt or not. I pinched myself. It has real characters and reputations. The bedroom was cosy and warm. The bathroom was fancy like a million bucks. BUT, the marble floor (included the shower floor) was my biggest fear. I was worried about the floor became the slippery floor after taking a shower. I could fell down and unconsciously body. Thank goodness you have a handrail. It helped but it was difficult to move and pump the shower gel and others. It is difficult to clean the feet or foot when slippery. Even though, there is a towel on the floor. It is still slippery and wet. It is all about safety. I had an idea. You can sell the cheap flip flops to the customers if they want. Overall, I loved it. Nice, clean and quote atmosphere. I would love to go back if you have flip flops available.

Perfect location! Tons of restaurants and shops on the same street. Size was perfect for my boyfriend and I. Very clean. It was our first trip to Montreal and our expectations were met highly! Will definitely come back during the summer. Highly recommend
