The breakfast spread is good and each meal has some local Kumaoni touch to it which is interesting. Being a heritage hotel, you are taken back to the era gone by. The bar is all wooden with a fireplace - perfect place to end your day. Highly recommended if you’re staying in Nainital.

The Naini Retreat really lived up to its name. Tucked among the hills and surrounded by greenery, it felt peaceful the moment we arrived. I’ve been to Nainital many times, but celebrating my 50th birthday here made this trip truly special. Our room was warm, comfortable, and had everything we needed, but what made the stay stand out was the exceptional hospitality. Chef Parihar and his team took great care of us and even personalised a few dishes. Kiran and Neha served us with so much warmth, and a big thank you to GM Jeena and Mr. Rohit for making sure everything was smooth and comfortable. The deck overlooking the lake was our favourite spot, we spent hours just relaxing, reading, and soaking in the view. With its old-world charm and genuine warmth, this is easily one of the best places to stay in Nainital.

absolutely lovely British era 1930s boutique hotel overlooking Nani lake. Full of original features, super peaceful, wonderful service, and absolutely delicious food. Rohit the Floor manager is incredibly helpful and also very knowledgeable about the hotel and its history. Worth mentioning that although the hotel is not in central Nainital, there is a lovely pedestrian / scooter path that takes you down to the town in only 10 minutes on foot. Can’t recommend enough.
