This is a very old hotel built in the year 1871. Willow banks located right in the heart of the mall Road, just two minute walking. Once you come out of the. The hotel offers more than just a stay. They offer a beautiful cafeteria, a sky lounge, a brewery with an interesting terrace with hanging rope sitting with a spectacular view of Shimla city. The hotel have good restaurants and serves tasty food. They also have a gelato and a cake shop, which has some interesting deserts to offer. The room is designed in an old way, but very well kept and maintained. The bathroom is decent Had a bath tub, which look little old. The cherry on the cake was the balcony, we had selected the room with the balcony. It has spectacular view of Shimla cityscape. Overall, the hotel was amazing. A good experience. Also, Survey welcome drink on your arrival. Once you step out of the hotel on your right, they have the aundh cafeteria on your left. You have club restaurant and all Hotel got everything within the premises. Your are bang on the mall Road, so you take left or right you are in the shopping area, you can enjoy your walks on the mall shopping or eating local delicacy.

This is a comfortable hotel on the Mall Rd with great views looking over Shimla. Being an old hotel the room was large with plenty of space. There was a huge comfortable bed with nice bedding and pillows. The bathroom had plenty of hot water ( although no sink plug). It was all very clean. The furnishings and decor could probably do with an update, it looks a little 1990’s. The room didn’t have any heating so I’m not sure if this is centrally controlled and only on the winter, but I was given a fan heater when I complained the room was cold. The room has tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. There was a constant supply of bottled water each day. There is a restaurant that did a very good breakfast for around £5. I had dinner in there one night which was also very good and clearly requested by non residents as well as residents. There’s a good outside bar with live music. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the tourist lift on the Mall rd and a short walk to the main attractions of Christ Church and the Ridge area. I’d be happy to stay here again.

Top notch service. Spacious and comfortable rooms with a breathtaking view (see picture taken from room 505). A superb breakfast with a huge variety of omelettes, Indian, Chinese, freshly baked pastries and fresh fruit and curd — the best breakfast l had so far during my one month stay India. Rooftop restaurant & bar. Own brewery with beer and cider. Spa with massage, sauna and jacuzzi. Perfect location. Enjoy! // Niklas

Our stay at Hotel Willow Banks was genuinely wonderful. The location couldn’t be better — right on the Mall — yet the hotel feels calm and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were kind and always ready to help, and everything ran smoothly from check-in to departure. It felt like a place that truly cares about its guests. We would happily stay here again.

We loved staying in this hotel. The views from the very comfortable room were amazing and exactly as in our guide book. Only here for 2 days we dined in the hotel and were very well looked after. This hotel is very convenient for exploring the town and the snow had been cleared to the sides of the road to make walking easier. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming.

I stayed for three nights toward the end of March. One of the better hotels on Mall Road, close to the Tourism Lift. Staff were warm and helpful, particularly in arranging spa services and local tours. While the food at the hotel restaurant could use a touch more variety, there are plenty of lovely dining options nearby. If you’re looking for a central location and comfortable accommodations for hotel room booking in Shimla, Hotel Willow Banks is a solid choice

Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Willow Banks! The location right on Mall Road was perfect — easy access to cafes, shops, and local sights without worrying about long walks. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we had beautiful views of the hills that made relaxing here a joy. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help with sightseeing tips or dining recommendations. Dining at the in-house restaurants was a highlight, and we really appreciated how centrally located everything was. A truly memorable stay in Shimla!
