The hotel is up a steep, dilapidated road from the main town. This means it’s slightly challenging to access the main shopping area (although there’s an independent store opposite). It didn’t feel as though it sat in the Periyar landscape as comfortably as the CGH Earth property. And its facilities weren’t of the same standard. But as that hotel was undergoing renovation, this was a satisfactory second option. Rooms are large with good storage, sited on multiple levels accessed by external staircases, and they have balconies. (But these appear to be the monkeys’ domain as is the dining room at breakfast - they stole food off my plate and proceeded to sit at ceiling level mocking me by eating it). The shower was powerfully (even if the tiles were a little slippery underfoot). It has a leisure pool (not very large) with a limited number of recliners. But areas for socialising were limited. Food was good, with a nice dosa station and other food options cooked to order. And dining staff were friendly and helpful.
