This was our first trip to Marquette, and the only reason I chose the Fairfield Inn over a brand that we’ve stayed at many times, is that several reviewers mentioned how great the breakfast buffet was. Well…I will not be one of those to say the breakfast buffet was amazing, because on the morning we were there, it definitely was NOT amazing. There were cold sausage patties, little egg bites that had no flavor and were also cold, and the oatmeal looked so bad, I didn’t even try it. The potatoes were the best of the hot food…seasoned well and they were actually hot. The only yogurt was Greek, and I know it’s better for me, but I just don’t like it! I made a waffle and it didn’t get cooked all the way through even though it indicated it was done. Other than breakfast…the room was clean, the hotel overall was clean, we slept well, we didn’t work out but went into the gym and it looked great, the pool/spa area is small but since we’d been outside in the rain all day, we didn’t use that either. There’s a partner hotel under construction right next door and the workers blocked access to the parking lot part of the day, so getting in to the property was a little tricky. Overall, it was fine for our one night stay. Next time though, I’ll probably choose the one we’ve used in the past.

Room was fantastic, even the layout was great. Big TV perfectly placed. Bathroom/shower was ideal. Bed was wonderful. Construction was underway on a hotel addition was a little annoying, hard to see the entrance at night. Overall: excellent.

Overall a great place to stay.
Beautifully decorated room and water views.
We were a little surprised to learn after the fact that the hotel does not automatically clean the rooms every day. They clean them every other day. We were not aware of this.
Also the thermostat in our room was not working. We could turn on the A/C unit though manually.

Easy 15 min walk to downtown Marquette! We loved walking along the bike path near the lakeshore to and from dinner. Easy access to the highway that heads to pictured rocks. Breakfast area was clean and had lots of great options!

Great hotel to stay in Marquette
This hotel was a great place for our family to stay right on the bay. There was some construction happening next door but it didn’t affect us and we hardly noticed it. This hotel is newer and very comfortable. The breakfast offerings were great.
