I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my extremely disappointing stay at your Ginger property Guwahati from 17th to 20th January 2026, where I stayed in Room No. 224 under the names Makarand Naik and Sanket Surve We chose Ginger expecting the basic service standards associated with the IHCL brand; however, the experience was far below acceptable hospitality norms. On one of the days during our stay, I personally informed the front office in the morning to ensure that the room was cleaned while I was away at work. I returned to the hotel around 4:30 PM, only to find that the room had not been cleaned at all. Upon informing the front office, I was told that housekeeping had been informed and they “might have missed it.” Later, another explanation was given stating that housekeeping was not informed, indicating serious internal communication failures and contradictory statements from staff. Subsequently, senior staff explained that due to high occupancy, the room could not be cleaned. This explanation is completely unacceptable. High occupancy cannot justify neglecting basic housekeeping responsibilities, especially after a specific request was made. What was even more concerning is that even after I personally informed the hotel manager in the evening, while I was seated in the restaurant for dinner, the room still remained uncleaned. This clearly reflects a lack of accountability and concern for guest expectations. In addition to housekeeping issues, the overall maintenance of the room was extremely poor, as clearly visible in the attached photographs: • The picture frame behind the bed was completely tilted and poorly fixed, reflecting negligence in basic upkeep. • The air-conditioner wiring was exposed and hanging directly in front, posing both a safety concern and showing lack of maintenance. • While preparing tea in the morning, I noticed that the electric kettle was in extremely poor and unhygienic condition, making it unfit for use. These are not minor issues; they indicate serious lapses in room inspection, maintenance, and hygiene standards. Additionally, the dining experience was equally disappointing. The restaurant operates through a third-party, and there are no nearby food options, leaving guests with no alternative. Unfortunately, the restaurant staff appeared poorly trained and struggled to take even basic orders. One of my colleagues requested a simple plate of carrot and cucumber, which the staff was unable to provide. Such service levels are unacceptable in the hospitality industry. While I understand that certain factors such as surrounding infrastructure may be beyond the hotel’s control, room cleanliness, maintenance, staff coordination, and service quality are entirely the hotel’s responsibility. Unfortunately, none of these met even minimum expectations during our stay. Nice hotel reception with amicable staff. Good room for family of three but less spacious. Good double bed with bed linen. Toilets and bathroom are clean with adequate toiletries. Cold and Hot water shower avalable. Free WiFi and Parking facilities. Complimentary breakfast with variety of options to eat. Lift available.

We stayed with a group of about 30 tourists from Chennai, last week 19.8.2025). It is a old building, renovated .Building maintenance is poor. The restaurant has not handled such a big crowd at a time it seems. They were not able to arrange break fast for all the people in buffet, no sufficient cutleries in stock for a big crowd. But In overall a reasonably decent hotel in Guwahati.

I stayed here for 03 nights but my stay was below my expectations. My check in was smooth and quick. The guy Sumdwn was very efficient during check in and Shabnam was also very helpful and quick at the time of check out. But I was disappointed to see the condition of my room when I checked in. It was not properly cleaned. Though they changed my room immediately but I was not expecting this. The breakfast spread was not that great. They have very limited options. Overall it was an okay stay.

Ambience is good,clean,customer service is also brilliant,food worth it's price, my first preference will be the ginger hotel whenever i visit guwahati again,suitable for all occasion including business or else.do visit and enjoy one of the best world class service

Compared to the price charged facilities are limited. Located in outskirts and limited transportation facilities. Ambience should be clean. Food Quality need to be improved.

Very basic hotel, shower cap/ dental kit like accessories are not provided and come at a cost. Room service staff needs little soft skill training. Breakfast buffet can be better. Reception staff was good but rooms can have a better look especially bathrooms.
