DO NOT BOOK A ROOM AT THIS HOTEL THROUGH A TRAVEL COMPANY. Hotel is under new ownership and does not have relationship with any of the major travel agencies. There were dozens of travelers looking for alternate accommodations because the hotel didn't have their reservation. We booked with *******, our friends booked with *********** and had to find another place to stay. ******* still charged my credit card for the stay. Every time we walked by the hotel there was someone standing outside the hotel looking for alternate accommodations.

Situated on the main square of Loreto, we had a 2 night and a little later, a 1 night stay and overall we enjoyed it but - see later. It is quite small with around 15 rooms with each room being identified by flowers, ours being a lily on both occasions with the room having a great lily picture within the room and other great pictures. The room was comfortable and basically covered all of our needs though the coffee machine failed to work on our last night. There is an attractive inner court yard, where the room for breakfast is located Breakfast was simple but good. The hotel is on a lovely square with a number of quality restaurants close by. There was a negative though. There is a roof top terrace with decent seating and a pool but the bar there was not open on any of the days we were there so there was no opportunity to enjoy an evening drink there. A shame as we are sure it would have added to our stay and pushed the rating to 5.

The hotel itself is charming, and the staff is wonderful, but I wouldn’t stay here again. That said, they seemed to be in the process of renovating (maybe—or maybe just closed these areas?), so the rooftop pool, bar and upper deck weren’t open. The small breakfast room also wasn’t open, and breakfast was served at the small cafe next door (meh). This was shortly after Christmas through New Year’s, which I wouldn’t have thought was an off time … For sure this would’ve made the stay more enjoyable the hotel was fully open. You’ll also definitely need earplugs for the street noise and random mission bells that ring at off times (not on the hour, or even anywhere close to the correct rings for a particular hour—obviously NOT the hotel’s fault!). The air conditioned rooms are comfortable but dark. We appreciated all the bottled water, sodas and a nice basket of snacks in the rooms, and the housekeeping staff were happy to give us extra water and creamer for the coffee as needed. The state of the hotel is by no means the fault of the staff, so I want to emphasize that they were very gracious and as helpful as they could be. This certainly has the potential to be a lovely stay, and hopefully they’ll remedy this in the future. It’s a beautiful property in a great location and friends who’ve stayed a few years ago loved it.

Really a mixed experience. At $265/night (when it was about 90% empty) it was not a bargain. But it is authentic, not at all touristy or resorty, and charming, on the city square, clean, quiet, very Spanish/Mexican in its pretty decor and rooms. Included breakfast was quite nice as was dinner the previous evening. Most staff speak no English. Rooms have no numbers! Heavily timbered beautiful architecture on this historical building. Taxi stand 1/2 block away. Beach 4-5 blocks away.

Posada de las Flores is truly an old beautiful hotel. Unfortunately that is the only positive of this property. The front desk attendant was rarely at the desk or if there, had friends in to chat. Our free breakfast was chopped cantaloupe and white toast. Finally, we erred and booked a one night stay twice. The person who is in charge (off-site in Cabo) couldn’t be bothered to even reply to our refund request, despite ******* making multiple attempts to solicit a refund. In summary, I would not recommend Posada de las Flores.

During a Baja California cruise in early 2025, our Holland America ship visited Loreto. A very walkable, safe and peaceful city I enjoyed. The Malecon was fun, the tourist area was busy (loved the 25 peso fresh street tacos) and the hot sauces at the market just outside the tourist area were great. I highly recommend musicians Carlos Patricio, Santiago Paniaqua (Grupo Bahia Mazatlan) & Loreto's own Hurricane Hoover (and I wish I could return for the Loreto Blues Festival this upcoming March!).

This might be the most authentic boutique hotel I’ve stayed in. No corporate owned. Very personalized touches from the hibiscus lemonade at welcome, evening dessert platter delivered to our room and a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The location is wonderful - right in the heart of town. A short walk down to the beach … maybe 100 yards. The Rooftop deck is a must use. I was surprised that we were the only guests up there each day. Morning baked goods and coffee were incredible! Rooms are beautifully appointed. Very authentic Mexico and the bed was so comfortable! If the hotel could improve in 2 areas it would be technology - the need a POS system and a bit of a more generous pour at the bar. Drinks were weak so we ended up going to the restaurant next door.

Beautiful, great for photos, near everything, but, it's super close to the church that rings the bells & plays a song at night, dawn, early morning, They don't have a "do not disturb" sign & pool had lots of bugs even live ones. Ps. When arriving they do ask for a fee of some tax around 50us.
