From the minute we arrived every member of staff we met were friendly , helpful and always happy, the location was fantastic the food likewise, would gladly visit again. This was the second last word property we have visited and would highly recommend both . We are already looking towards our next trip

From the minute we arrived at the Last Word we knew we were in for a treat! The location is breathtaking and the welcome incredibly special, which set the tone for our two day stay. Our super luxury comfy room faced the ocean and the bold and beautiful decor, was both inviting and exciting. Meal times were the best as the food was delicious, wines sublime and service impeccable. Brandin and the team could not be more helpful and I can't honestly say that we had an amazing getaway. I highly recommend the Last Word Long Beach if you want to get away from it all and be spoilt rotten.

Firstly we were surprised how few hotels there are on the beaches near Cape Town so this is a real find. The hotel is directly on the beach less than an hour from Cape Town. It’s a real chill out place, with little to do but admire the views from the hotel's terrace and walk along the beach unless you are into surfing. There are a few facilities nearby with coffee shops, bars and cafes a 10 minute walk away (up the road and turn right). We had an Elegant Suite on the first floor with a private terrace overlooking the beach. Although rooms on the lower level have access to the small swimming pool, I suspect they don't have a good sea view. Our suite was large and nicely decorated. My only gripe was the lack of privacy with the bathroom area directly behind the bed with no screen between the two. It also meant leaving a light on to avoid tripping on the step between the bedroom and bathroom areas when using the toilet in the night. Luckily we had eye masks otherwise this would have been an issue. At least the toilet was in a separate room but had no sink to wash hands or extractor fan! The food is very good and plentiful. If you want a table with a view of the beach you need to eat early otherwise you miss out. It’s a shame they don’t rotate the tables as there are only 6 rooms and preferring to eat late, we missed out on this. The bar has an excellent selection of drinks included in the all inclusive, with premium spirits available at a supplement (eg XO cognac). The staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. I suspect the décor of the lounge / bar area is lovely but was hidden by kitsch Xmas decorations. I also found the Christmas music on a tape loop tedious especially as it was only the first week of December, but maybe I’m just being a Grinch! It's a lovely hotel and I would stay again, but would try a different room next time.

This hotel, on a wonderful stretch of beach south of Cape Town is a wonderful place. Eat breakfast looking out over the ocean and watch the surfers doing their stuff. Wonderful service is a given, it feels like you are part of the family for your stay. Great food as well, the fish dishes are a delight. Chris & Julie

We are super grateful to have found The Last Word! This boutique property offers just six beautifully appointed rooms, creating an intimate and effortlessly refined experience. The service level is stunningly bespoke and accommodating. In terms of value, it stands head and shoulders above many top-tier Cape Town properties we’ve stayed at. Most properties in Cape Town that command 2-3x the price only deliver a marginal improvement in service compared to The Last Word. Most meals — including breakfast and dinner — are included in the rate, and The Last Word never compromises on quality. The food is consistently excellent: generous, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. We spent much of our time unwinding on Long Beach, one of Cape Town’s quieter stretches, frequented mostly by surfers. Peaceful, scenic, and wonderfully understated — the perfect complement to an exceptional stay. I’ll let the pictures speak for itself.

Amazing Hotel! My daughter & I were thoroughly spoiled during our star at this beautiful hotel. The staff were so accommodating, kind, helpful & really lovely. The views were amazing & we were so sad when it was time to leave this beautiful place.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the experience definitely exceeded my expectations. The location and hospitality are exceptional. It’s a beautiful beach house with great staff. Breakfast and dinner and most drinks are included. The meals were of great quality. There are so many personal touches that make this place even more special. Highly recommend.

Everything about this hotel exceeded expectations and I really wish we had more days to spend there. The staff were exceptional and welcoming, the amenities top-notch, and the room was both comfortable and filled with thoughtful extras (including a yoga mat and cooler box). Breakfast and dinner was outstanding! The beachfront location is fantastic. Highly recommended for a relaxing, pampered getaway.
