Where do I start! I was recommended this gem by someone I don't like so l was sceptical lol. But WOW what a place! So so so glad I booked. From the very start to the last minute/word it was exceptional. The rooms were gorgeous. We had the one which leads out to the swimming pool. The small things really made it special. The hot water bottles and hot chocolate at turn down service, the little bar in the lobby, the fireplace, the bath salts, the warm towels.... it was just so luxurious, so comfortable and I will 1000% go back. I love a quiet hotel and this was one of the quietest l've been to even with it being small and boutiquey. Breakfast was absolutely divine. Quaint little tables set up with fruits, cheeses and meats and then a menu to choose from for the mains. A special shout out to Sherrie who was phenomenal. I needed to do some washing and she assisted me with a full load. Always happy to help, this wonderful woman was always around, and always smiling. My only regret was not posting this review earlier as I now don't remember the night managers name who was also just super helpful.

Conrad and the whole staff were amazing. Such a quaint place to stay. The Room and the service were fantastic The morning breakfasts were also top notch. We also loved that we could walk to town for dinner/shopping.

Such a wonderful hotel, all the staff was so friendly and professional and made us feel very special, From the moment we arrived we have been cared with bed warmers and some sweet compliments every evening ☺️ and excellent breakfasts every morning (the most beautiful setting with porcelain I have ever seen in a hotel). The rooms are spacious and very stylish and what is important in winter time there was a floor heater. The location is very convenient: a walking distance to the best restaurants and to the wine tram station. The lounge zone is so chique and I really like the concept of honesty bar. This stay was the best before returning back home. Thanks to all the staff members!

The best hotel, small, cozy, personal attention. Everybody was super kind, welcoming and making sure you were comfortable. We went for our honeymoon and every night we had a little detail in our bed. The first night chanpagne, the second night hot chocolate and creme brulee. Just perfect! The best!

Wow! From the moment we arrived Franklin and the staff couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was perfect. Such a beautiful hotel. Very tastefully decorated with attention to detail. Nothing was too much trouble Perfect location to explore the town and access the wine tram Amazing breakfast! Staff were so friendly. Franklin was able to give advice on local restaurants which were amazing. 100% would recommend Caroline and Marcus

We had a wonderful stay at The Last Word in Franschoek. Great location which gave us the ability to walk to all the shops and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and beautiful. The service was above and beyond. Rooms were so comfortable we made ourselves right at home. Our own pool, sitting room, and even a mat to work out with.

We recently stayed at The Last Word Franschhoek and were truly impressed by the experience. The décor is elegant and calming, creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. The staff were absolutely outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Every interaction felt personal and thoughtful. Special little touches like the turndown service made it special, returning to little treats like crème brûlée and hot chocolate in the evening was such a lovely surprise, and the gin & tonic station in the room along with yoga mat & weights added to the delight. The location couldn’t be better—right on the main street, with restaurants, boutiques, and galleries just a short stroll away. It made exploring the town incredibly easy and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a luxurious yet relaxed place to stay in the heart of Franschhoek, I highly recommend The Last Word. It truly lives up to its name.
