A very comfortable well-equipped hotel. The room was nice, spacious and very clean. The hotel staff are very kind, polite and respectful to guests (this later is often missing in the Western European hotels I stayed at). I did not use the wellness facilities but they were looking good. I had half-board (breakfast and dinner) which offered a great variety buffet service. There were always some traditional Hungarian options to choose from (e.g. lecsó - a special paprika-tomato-onion casserole). The hotel is very close to the railway station, to the nightlife area (Petôfi sétány) and to the Siófok móló (pier). I definitely recommend this place to stay at when someone visits Siófok.

This is a fantastic hotel. (I am not sure why only 4 stars. I find it hard to imagine how to make it better, and it is several classes above the 4-star hotel we stayed the day before in Pecs.) The good: - It is well situated, a very short and nice stroll to the beach but far enough so that the party noise doesn’t get to you. Also very close to the train station yet I have not heard any train noise during our stay. - The exterior is nice, the garden is well maintained, sport and game activities are inviting, the pools and hot tubs are very nicely built. The building is structurally from the 70s (used to be a high-end vacation spot for a socialist mining company) it was really nice and modern back then. It is much nicer now, though the footprint and structure is the same. Parking is affordable and convenient at the hotel (though coming with train is a very reasonable option, no matter how high-end the place is) - As you head inside it’s getting better and better: the lobby is modern, elegant, immaculately maintained and the reception staff is friendly and efficient. - The hallways and rooms are very nicely renovated (just 2 years ago, so ignore the older ratings). The interior deco, ergonomics and the overall feel matches the nicest hotels around the world (Vegas, Chicago, etc, etc…) for less than half the price. - Breakfast and dinner are included in the price and are plentiful buffet (you don’t really need a third meal for the day). The food is excellent: the dinner selection changes daily and it is very tasty food with a wide variety. It is nicely presented and even the most unassuming looking salads and soups and rolls and desserts offer pleasant culinary surprises. It is really good food: matches high-end restaurants with some home-made flair; and a great value considering how much you would spend for similar quality food. You pay for your drinks though: not too expensive and the wine was great. Breakfast is changing too though it’s not a complete overhaul from one day to the next (I guess that’s because there are just so many things you can offer for breakfast if you have a selection of more than 50 different items) - We had a good time at the beach so did not try the wellness facilities though they looked great. Some opportunity for improvement. - The designated smoking area is right in front of the main entrance so one has to walk through the smoke (it’s outdoors but semi-enclosed) - this could be moved. - The mojito I had was forgettable. That’s kind of it: it’s hard to find anything wrong with this place. It’s a beautiful, elegant, friendly hotel at a reasonable price (especially if you consider the great food included) that offers first-class environment and service. I was surprised that very few foreigners were here. Fair warning if you come for wellness: you may be at risk of gaining weight. Oh wait, have I already mentioned the great food? A few times? Anyhow it’s worth repeating.
