Further clarification in response to the hotel’s public reply:The suggestion that I believed I had the right to leave at 10:50 a.m., and that I “might have stayed until noon”, is rather impressive — especially given how differently the morning actually unfolded.Regarding checkout: At approximately 10:10 a.m., a laundry staff member knocked on our door requesting that we vacate. At that point, we were already packing and politely asked whether an additional 10 minutes would be possible. This was declined, and we were told we had no more than five minutes. As a result, we left in a rush by around 10:15 a.m. — our luggage was moved straight to the car boot and organised there rather than inside the room. Under a “10:10 knock / 10:15 departure” reality, concluding that I “might have stayed until noon” appears to rely more on post-hoc imagination than on what actually occurred.Regarding the renovation smell: My original review simply described the experience as it was: the room is new, the view is nice, reception was friendly — and the renovation smell was noticeably strong and irritating, requiring time to adapt. That is standard, reasonable guest feedback. Comparing an enclosed accommodation space to “the smell of a new BMW” is certainly a creative analogy, but it does not change a basic point: air quality and odour in a closed room can affect rest and sleep, and it is entirely normal that some guests are sensitive to it. Most travellers book accommodation to rest — not to “train” themselves to tolerate strong renovation odours.Final note: I fully respect the property’s rules and procedures. However, across my stays in other New Zealand accommodations of a similar type (including Blue Peaks), brief and reasonable communication around checkout is typically handled with more understanding. My original review also acknowledged the positives, as it was written objectively. It is unfortunate that the response appears more focused on defending procedures and making comparisons than on addressing the substance of guest experience. I hope future feedback can be met with greater professionalism and basic respect.

Hi there, thank you for taking your time to write your review, yes our rooms are brand new, you may think that it has an odour that you may not like but as you say it took you some time to get use to, just like a new BMW car !, when you get your confirmation and if you read it , it states that it is 10am is check out time, this is so we are able to clean the unit for the next customer, I am sorry that you may feel that it is your right to leave at 1050am , I am sure if we did not remind you of the check out time you would have still been at midday. Respect and read confirmations !
Hi there, Yes everything in the apartment is brand new here at the Motel, it is like a new car smell, I am SO sorry if this interrupted in you trying to conceive, I which you all the best with your futures experiences, happy holiday

3.reception态度好
