Where do we start…we stayed here for our honeymoon and wished we’d booked one of the many other reputable hotels/accommodation in the area. In summary: - Firstly, the booking experience is clunky at best - we should have seen this as a sign to look elsewhere. - Then the owner decided randomly to take payment out of our credit card several months before our booking and as we’re based in the UK, our bank quite rightly flagged it as a suspicious overseas transaction. She then preceded to try it four more times which obviously just meant our bank was even more concerned (she then threw this in our face - more on this later). - There is no in person check in process - if you call yourself a ‘hotel’ and at a price point of around $550 a night, you expect a level of service that they did not provide. - We also stated several times that we were on our honeymoon - it doesn’t take much to simply acknowledge this with something like a small bottle of wine and a ‘congratulations’ note or similar (it really doesn’t take much to make your customers feel special). After we got engaged, the hotel we stayed in did this and the fact that this wasn’t thought about in any kind of way is a perfect example of the lack of understanding of what makes excellent customer service. - They’re also advertised as a B&B but breakfast is not included - which feels like false advertising. - We were the only people staying in the ‘hotel’ from 2nd - 4th January. This is a peak time and every other place in the area was booked up, so it certainly says something about the offering. - The ‘restaurant’ is a scam - completely overpriced for what it is. At $180 a head, you expect excellent. What they served up was barely average. We paid the same amount at Melbourne’s Chin Chin just days earlier and got more food at a much much higher quality. - Now for the cherry on top - after we quite rightly refused to pay the exorbitant $180 a head that they were charging for a 5 course meal (one which included a bread course which was basic sliced bread), the owner arrived at the accommodation, aggressively parked us in, threatened to call the police and stated that her ‘husband was coming’ (read that how you will), questioned our characters - stating that we have money issues (remember that point about taking payment above), said that we left the room in a disgusting state the first night (there were a couple of plates, yes but there is no where to clean it up as it’s a hotel and it’s a hotel so you pay for the service of cleaning up!), she never at any point wanted to hear our feedback on the food and why we did not want to pay the full amount (we have dined at Michelin star restaurants around the world - we know our food and we have never had an experience where the food was so under par for the cost and have always paid in full). - Overall, it was a thoroughly disappointing experience - avoid booking here like the plague!

We arrived at the George's Boutique Hotel & Culinary Retreat as scheduled at 2pm on a dark, rainy afternoon. The small building lies at the bottom of an extremely seep driveway . While one of us minded the rental car on the street with flashers, the other walked down to the place. The building was dark and no one was around. By the "Reception" sign there are two doorbells at the locked door, and a pair of phone numbers for Natasha and Emma. One doorbell did nothing that we could see, as we stood there in the rain. The other doorbell attached to the camera rang for a while and then told us that no one answered. We walked around to "Restaurant and Day Spa" and found a dark, and vacant room with chairs on tables. We tried calling Natasha and Emma, but *KEY MISTAKE*, they provided local telephone number with a leading "0" and, ignorant international travelers, we used the "+61" country code but forgot to remove the "0", and we could not ring the numbers. It got darker and rainier as we sat on in the car on the street and pondered what to do. We tried calling both Natasha and Emma, but the calls did not go through. We emailed them at the address from which they had sent us our confirmation, but no response. We were just about to drive away and try to find lodging at the airport Novotel when we saw two people walking up to the building. We ran down to discover that they were the other two guests, and they were able to get hold of Natasha who told them how to extract our entry packet in the lockbox. These guests also reminded us to drop the leading "0" and we were able to phone Natasha ourselves and she told us the lockbox number so that we could return the keys when we leave. It turned out that Natasha had SMS'ed us the entry instructions, but she forgot to use our international country code and she didn't bother to verify that the SMS had been delivered. She did not back up the SMS with an email. Of course there was no note for us on the door of the building or anything to indicate George's Boutique Hotel was an active business. The room turned out to be relatively large and perfectly OK. The view down from Arthur's Seat is nice and there is a gondola nearby that I think you could take down to the bottom of the hill. You can apparently order breakfast (at additional expense) in that dark lunch room below if you want, but that's it. If you are an Auatralian traveler or you are an international traveler who enjoys being abandoned in the cold and rain, this is not a bad place. Otherwise you might want to give George's Boutique Hotel a pass. We had a lovely time at all the other places we stayed in Australia, so there are plenty of good accommodations to be had. Maybe not this one, though.

We stayed in Suite 1, with a gorgeous view to the sea, gardens and grapevines which we much preferred to the view to the sea, but maybe more houses and cropland to the other side. The room was modern, very spacious, comfortable and very clean the same as the bathroom. Natasha was always available on the phone and served us delicious breakfasts every day. Coffee was great! We had daily visits from sulphur crested cockatoos, rosellas and ducks and the occasional kangaroo. We had a very pleasant weekly stay. We loved the place and will definitively plan to return!

We booked this hotel in Queenscliff and caught the Ferry over to Mornington Penisula We had been advised we would get a code to access the property On arrival at 7pm in freezing cold on a long weekend there was no one to greet us, no code to our emails or txt messages and no one would answer our calls or emails. We tried at least 20 other venues but being the long weekend we had to drive back to Melbourne Appalling service - DO NOT BOOk the ACCOMMODATION
