This is the 2nd time I've stayed here. It's my preferred place for long-term accom. It's always clean, staff are wonderful and it has everything you need. Even a washing machine and clothes dryer. Great location. I'll be back here later this year for my 3rd visit. Fabulous boutique hotel which is serviced daily.

Very basic room, cheap mattress, no spare pillows or blankets. Extremely basic tea and coffee. Bathroom had broken fittings and stank of mold. Security cards did not work reliably so some stress about getting into building/rooms after dinner. No slot for returning key card after hours. The location is amazing and a little work on the rooms and comfort would go a long way.

I stayed two nights 28FEB - 1MAR and the Annam Apartments truly exceeded my expectations on many fronts. First, i'll highlight the value for money. It was World Pride in Sydney and as I was browsing hotel prices they were absolutely exorbitant. I managed to secure an excellent deal at the Annam for around £110 per night. As a point of comparison the Ibis Budget Sydney East down the road was charging £105 per night for a simple room. Secondly, the apartment itself. I was in apartment 34 and it was a great size and had absolutely everything in it that I needed. The building is certainly not new but it is well maintained and for me older style apartment buildings tend to have roomier apartments as the new more modern ones seem to have cracked the code in fitting apartments into the minimum amount of floorspace possible. Thirdly, the location was absolutely perfect for me. It was five minutes walk from Kings Cross station and five minutes walk from Rushcutters Bay park. You can easily walk into the city centre in 20-25 minutes if you don't want to take the train or bus. Finally, every staff member I dealt with was so friendly. I arrived at the apartments at 11am and had no expectation of being given a room, I was just going to leave my luggage and wander around until check in time. However they were able to accommodate me straight away which was great. This impressed me as I have stayed at hotels before where even when the room HAS been available early they try to charge you a 'fee' for early check in. Most impressively, I checked out and got half way to the airport when I had a feeling of utter dread. I had removed my travel wallet with my passport and a substantial amount of cash and hidden it in the room thinking I was being all clever. Stupid me, I left without it. I called the hotel and they quickly located the travel wallet and handed it over complete with all the contents - thank you so much. The only area for development is the wifi. This was not an issue for me, I was out and about a lot and had data on my phone so I wasn't bothered at all. BUT if wifi is a priority for you you may want to make other arrangements (buy a mobile wifi dongle or such) as the wifi in the hotel is pretty bad. Yes, I saw insects in the room. This is Australia in summer, I was on the third floor, I often had the windows open and you are going to see them anywhere you go. Just a few small ants and the only reason they appeared I imagine was to carry away a couple grains of rice I had inadvertently dropped on the floor. It did not bother me in the slightest I simply confiscated their prize (the rice) and they were gone. On this point, for my 40th birthday a couple years ago we splurged on a room at the Park Hyatt for £750 per night. We also saw insects in the room there. I definitely know where I will be looking to return to when I visit Sydney next.
