W sincerely thank you for your glowing words. One of the advantages of staying in 'traditional hosted accommodation' when something goes wrong (particularly when it's an overseas guest), you can be confident that your host will be there to assist and self solve the problem so your holiday is not spoilt. We loved meeting you and look forward to keeping in touch. Take care and enjoy the balance of your stay in Tasmania

Thank you for your kind words. It was a pity you came when the weather was not the best and the train was in recess. Appreciate not everyone loves the remote location whilst others are thrilled by its natural state and lack of a typical tourist destination.

What a great location in Queenstown. On arrival we were met by the host and her husband whom took us on a tour of Pengahana. We knew we were at a highly rated property when we saw the wall of awards the hosts displayed. We had a large room with a very lovely arrangement of furniture along with nice decor. Our breakfast was cooked by our hosts whom had also made their own white and grain breads. The breakfast was very large and nicely presented. Day rooms and kitchen had tea and coffee making facilities along with biscuits etc. for day consumption. The property is a very easy walk of around 300 metres into town. Highly recommend a tour of the Paragon Art Deco cinema and a West Coast train ride. Definitely will return to Pengahana

酒店回复: Thank you for such a detailed overview of your stay with us. We appreciate your appraisal and kind words. We constantly strive to add in a little something extra to our service offering (such as our extensive tea/coffee selection, complimentary port nightcap, use of umbrellas, shoe horn etc) so our guests feel thoroughly spoilt when staying at Penghana and give value for $$.

I had the pleasure of staying 4 nights at Penghana with a couple of friends on their first visit to Tasmania's West Coast. Penghana provides a unique opportunity for visitors to Tasmania to experience the grandeur and comfort of a mansion built in the 1890's in a remote and challenging location. Karen & Steve have spared no effort in providing guests with the finest experience of Penghana's magnificent suites, its fine furniture, and tableware. Guests enjoy a breakfast served to order in the formal dining room before setting off on each day's excursions. Home-baked bread, muesli, fruit cake, jams and relishes complement local produce on the breakfast menu. Most visitors to Queenstown need help with guidance on local attractions and timetables for popular excursions. Pre-booking is essential for the most popular attractions with guidance on distance and approximate travel time to get to Strahan, Zeehan or other places of interest. Steve and Karen will have the latest information and provide whatever assistance is needed to ensure guests arrive on time.

I booked Penghana in Queenstown as a Christmas gift for my daughter, and it was the best gift we could have shared together. Karen and Steve made us feel really welcome. It never felt like staying in a commercial B&B, it felt so homely and with great attention to care and detail. The house itself is stunning: a grand, period home. Everything was spotless and very well cared for. Our room was comfortable, and quiet. I loved the awesome quality bed linen and tiny attention to detail, like the quality nail file and other bathroomy bits. Breakfast was a highlight each morning. Steve is a great chef, friendly, attentive, and on time. The breakfasts were so nicely prepared and delicious, and sitting down in such a lovely setting was a fab way to start the day. I even enjoyed the mushrooms, and I normally hate mushrooms. This is a terrific space and in such a quirky, different and magnificent part of Tasmania. This is a premium hospitality set-up that we couldn't fault. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a memorable place to stay in Queenstown. I hope to return myself before too long, this time with my lover.

Beautiful property and Karen and Steve go way above and beyond to ensure the stay in the majestic residence is perfect. From the time of arrival to our quick departure nothing was too much for the awesome hosts. This property and hosts makes the stay in Queenstown worth it as there was not a lot around due to long weekend. We were provided great guide before we arrived to what to do enroute from Hobart and visited the Wall and the nearby falls. Met another couple also staying and that was great. Thanks.
