Clean, comfortable and safe accommodation. Close to some of the best beaches, pubs, restaurants and cafes in Australia. Very kind managers. Lovely, well organised and maintained historical building. Top shelf aommodation. Highly recommended.

Not as good as it used to be
This place used to be a beacon of a yha with a pulse and warm heart. Now it's been reduced and personality eroded since being taken over by the new managers.
There was no friendly welcome, no advice on local activities it was rather sterile.
The building itself is still impressive and location fantastic. I just wish the yha of 2023 was still there in soul

Port elliot was a nice location. The YHA staff were absolutely awful. We booked two nights on their website which advertised their rooms as being for two adults and two children and we booked two rooms for 7 of us. The staff accused one of our friends of being a weirdo and forced him to leave without even asking him about the stay then I continued arguing with them for a half hour about their deception and they refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. They were very aggressive, very rude and threatened to call the police on me for complaining. Then when i told them i would love them to call the police so the police could help me resolve the situation they backed down and gave a refund. I woukd not recommend this place to anyone. Come to this beautiful location but stay somewhere else.
