Fabulous stay!
Had a lovely stay!! Room was beautiful- spacious, clean and very tastefully decorated. Managed to get the room before having to leave for a wedding at 1pm (thank you very much for doing this for us!!), was a great location for a wedding at Mapperton House, and then using Craig’s taxis to taxi there and back. Breakfast the next day was reasonably priced & tasty, eaten in the lovely dining area. Also fabulous views over the countryside! Would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to the area/attending a wedding at Mapperton House!

Relaxing, friendly accommodation. Clean, warm and quality bedding. Ideal that the room was across the courtyard, lovely setting. Food in the pub was exceptional, served by polite, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was relaxed and tasty.

Good welcome, surprised by hotels position, great views, well arranged cabins, nicely presented - don’t think lights in cabin need to be on (eco point)

Refused to reserve a table outside for someone who was immuno compromised so we went elsewhere as not in a position to be seated indoors in a busy environment Checked with management but still a refusal. Told to just turn up and take our chances of getting a table.

If you book a table inside, then you always have the choice on the night to eat outside from the garden menu at the time you booked your table. I have spoken to the management team following your review and unfortunately neither of us remember having a conversation with you about your needs. We apologise if one of our team didn't pick up on your particular needs and we can sure you that if we were made aware of this at the time, we would have done our best to accommodate you by suggest potential options to dine with us.

Very disappointed with lack of customer service. Having used this lovely pub for 12 years to be told u had to put your name down for outside meals (which were bar food) at the convenience of the management - who couldn’t take a preorder due to numerous orders - so the customer had to return to the bar to order at a time to suit the management and then couldn’t be told when the order would be served at the time of ordering was pathetic. Having worked in hospitality for 30 years for a very well known national company customer service was paramount. Will not be revisiting nor recommending.

Customer service is extremely important to us, and we work hard to ensure that our guests have great food and great service. Most of our reviews suggest that we are achieving that. It is always disappointing to read that regular customers have been disappointed by their experience. Because we have a large dining room, a patio and a very large beer garden, unfortunately, there are times (and I really wish it wasn’t the case) that we are just not able, due to kitchen capacity, to feed all customers that haven’t booked a table with us at the specific time they arrive. On particularly busy evenings, we have adopted a wait list for walk in guests who haven’t booked a table so that we can best manage capacity in and around our booked tables and help to ensure guests (either booked or walk ins) are not waiting too long for food. Whilst our garden menu is a reduced version of our main indoor dining menu, all food is prepared fresh by our chefs in our kitchen and therefore we treat all orders the same. Since we bought the pub in January this year, we have had amazing local support and are fully booked most evenings. Because of weather changes we don’t reserve tables outside. However, if the weather is good, and you have reserved a table in the dining room, and decide that you want to eat outside, you are able to do so and order from the garden menu at your booked time. If you choose to return, my suggestion would be to phone before you visit and see if we have table availability. We do hope to see you again.
