The owner was happy to chat to all the customers, local or new visitors. The logburner was a warm welcome on a cold evening. Books and games were available to use. The menu was varied and good value and a choice of a smaller portion of lasagne at lunchtime was plenty for me with garlic bread and salad. My husband had the homemade, very meaty steak and ale pie with seasonal veg and chips which he enjoyed . The bedroom was warm and cosy, very clean with comfortable bed and pillows.

Really enjoyed my stay here - I had a single room with en suite which was very comfortable and immaculately clean. Delicious supper in the bar and excellent cooked breakfast in the morning. Really lovely staff. Location is great - Montacute village is beautiful and the National Trust house is just a short walk down the road. I’d definitely stay again.

Friendly welcome. Accommodation easily as good as if not better than Premier Inn, is a gorgeous village. Food and ale very good with an excellent full English breakfast included. Montecute is a lovely period setting that has been used for several screenplays. Live band in the garden added to an enjoyable evening.

Once again a brilliant evening. ❤️ food. The lasagna is so tasty .. this evening, they had a band “Vanilla Radio “. So cool and amazing musicians. Excellent service all round , food was hot and there was no wait for service Love this little gem of a pub. It’s a shame I can only review it a certain amount of time a month. Even when we move ( only 30 minutes away). We will definitely re visit. And there is a Race night 16/7 And they have a Sunday afternoon BBQ All throughout the summer Definitely worth treating yourself.

Luckily enough to live within a mile of the pub. Have enjoyed lite lunches, carveys and live music. Authentic cosy English Pub. Plenty of charm. Always met with chatty friendly staff and the land lady always goes above and beyond to meet our hospitality requirements. Always recommend them and hope they keep up the great customer service they offer our friendly community. Shane and Becky

酒店回复: Other customers commented that they’d never seen anyone pile so much food onto their plates as you and your girlfriend and then to leave it all. Not to mention all your sweaty tissues I had to clear off your table. We only have excellent feedback regarding our food as you can see from other reviews. Needless to say, you both are not welcome in our lovely pub so please do not darken our doorstep again as you will not be served.

Montacute is a small village in South Somerset, with ancient houses made from the lovely warm Ham Stone quarried in the hills that overlook it. It's also home to the Elizabethan manor house built for the Phelips family who gave their name to the pub in the square at the centre of the village. We stayed for one night in a comfortable room at the front. The pub also has a lovely garden at the back and a traditional bar serving traditional pub food. Reasonably priced wine list. The two owners are welcoming and attentive. Not far from the M5 so well situated if you need to break a long journey to Devon or Cornwall.
