Very good stay, handy location and lots of thoughtful touches, eg bottle of water, good selection of teas and coffees. Communication and directions to the property from the owner were spot on. Owner was also responsive when I had a specific question. Only thing which could improve this property are brighter bedside lighting, I had to use the torch on my phone for a brighter light so that I could read in bed! Very minor point. Plenty of eating options near the property for breakfast and dinner. Approx 15 min walk from Northgate station, less than 10mins from Castle station.

Lovely place to stay in central Newark, just near the castle (although currently closed) and a short walk from the Civil War Museum. Rooms very large and well equipped, all freshly decorated and clean, very quiet and (reasonably) easy to access free parking. Only minor reservation is that hosting is handled remotely, so you will need your phone to hand to gain entry and to contact the host if necessary (the venue was in different places labelled as a hotel or self-catering, but neither are quite right - a room only, self-service guest house is probably the most accurate). Plenty of places to eat nearby. A recommended option if visiting Newark or looking for somewhere within easy reach to either Nottingham or Lincoln.

Excellent riverside location for visiting Newarks many attractions. Tastefully furnished and comfortable accommodation. Helpful, friendly and professional housekeeping.

Lovely property in great location!

Love staying here when visiting the area. It's a great location and peaceful. The rooms are lovely and great views over the river. A stone's throw from the castle and short walk into town. We love walking along to The Navigation too for a little refreshment!

A quick trip for a getaway to my old home town, the best we've stayed in. Room were immaculate & comfy. Location is spot on, parking is perfect. Close to town & secure. Lovely views. Communication was spot on. Will stay again.

This was a beautiful period property decorated in a modern style. The furniture was lovely and the bed comfy. The shower was more than adequate and the fridge and hot drink making facilities were appreciated. Very clean. Gorgeous location overlooking the loch. Cafes serving breakfast were very close and the town was full of pubs and restaurants. We loved our stay here!
