An architectural marvel. The hotel is a total delight, and even more so are the staff and the occasional wildlife visitors! Chinthaka and his team care-take this Geoffrey Bawa inspired property with an immaculate eye for the guest’s experience. My partner and I really enjoyed our time at The Hermitage. The property has certainly changed the way we view the importance of home and nature in nurturing positive living and wellbeing.

Those three days our family spent there over Christmas were just magical! This luxury serviced villa was outstanding for our entire family, with the beauty of the decor, the cleanliness of the rooms, the stunning views, gorgeous nature and tasty food. We missed Sri Lankan cuisine and we got it! Dammit and the entire support team were so thoughtful and accommodating of all our requests. Best experience of our overall stay in Sri Lanka. Thank you to the team :-)

Had an excellent 2 night stay at this wonderful property. The setting, location and amenities were all top notch. The staff were friendly and affable, and were always looking out for the comfort and well being of my family. Hat tip to Damit who really pulled out all the stops to make sure we had a great experience. Highly recommended.

The Hermitage Kandy is an amazing place in Kandy , the architecture , furniture and surroundings are tastefully created to . The rooms are very comfortable and cozy , the washrooms are beautifully done. The pool was the most relaxing place to be at with lovely surroundings. An ideal place to relax and unwind. The reservations officer Pooja was really helpful and went out of her way to book the resort for us. She even sent us the menu's prior to visiting so that we knew the food that was being offered at the resort. I called her several times to inquire on various matters yet she always gave us her best. Staff members at the hotel were also very helpful , priyantha was the best out of all of them. In terms of food The eggs Ben was the highlight and so was the seafood soup and the grilled chicken, the Sri lankan rice n curry and string hoppers were great along with chicken curry. However they did not serve us breakfast buns and the resort did not have butter which was to our surprise, they served us astra margarine which is the cheap margarine, pls improve in these areas.

The Hermitage by Edwards Collection. 27-28 March, 2022. Sounds like a grand name for a ‘hotel’ but it’s more a grand Bed and Breakfast. You get a dinner menu and select then they call a restaurant to deliver so you receive cold to warm food served on lovely plates. Breakfast was the same… my eggs and bacon was cold, the toast cold, bit of a shame really. My partners ‘local’ breakfast was nice, but cold as well. It’s a scam for what you are paying. The owner could easily install a chef to cook these things and enhance the experience. I mean how difficult is it to put toast in a toaster and fry an egg on site? I’m sure the staff, we had a lovely bloke called Mutu, could be trained to cook what’s on the menu. The rooms and decor are fantastic, it’s such a letdown when you get cold dinner and breakfast. And the coffee, cheap filtered coffee… they may as well buy a Nespresso machine. The WiFi… well, should I say lack of it… it is terrible… come on owner, install some decent routers, it’s not rocket science. Over priced, avoid at all costs, there must be better value high end places in Kandy. They didn’t even have ice for your drinks.
