Brilliant little hostel hidden in the village of Beer. We camped on a flat grassed area. Access to drying room. Breakfast was said to be unlimited but it wasn't which we were told after asking for more. Adequate tho. Staff friendly and helpful. Would return.

酒店回复: Thanks for your review. I'm sorry about the confusion with breakfast. We agree that the generic YHA branding for an unlimited breakfast can be misleading with small sites like ours, that don't have a hot buffet. Since we don't have this equipment, or space to accommodate it, our cooks plate up a standard size breakfast unless told otherwise. We are more than happy to provide a larger portion if we get a heads up that you are extra hungry. So if you stay another time, just let us know when you place your order at check in, or at least when you first come along in the morning, and we'll cook just what you like. We're really pleased you were otherwise satisfied with your stay!

We stayed in one of the bell tents for one night while walking the coast path. This was one of the best nights sleep we had on our trip. Great welcome and service from Richard who cooked us lovely pizzas when we got there and a great breakfast before we left. It was so peaceful and the tent was cozy. Shared facilities were very clean. We would definitely return to this lovely place

Excellent hostel, very friendly and helpful. Comfy bedroom and a hearty breakfast. Lots of families staying which gave a great atmosphere. Peaceful nights sleep. No queuing for showers. Everything you need! Drying room for wet kit was very useful. Good location for a 3 day stay. Good walks in both directions along the coast. Great for a chilly sea swim.

Situated on the edge of the village, on the road to the quarry cave, the drive up to the hostel is narrow with a big 180 degree bend just prior to the car park. There is a suggested parking plan on a tree, that you will probably miss, essentially you are asked to park quite close to the other cars, such that 10 cars can be squeezed in. You then fill in a contact card to leave in your car so you can be phoned if you are blocking anyone. Hostel was clean and comfortable with helpful staff with reception open from 17-2030. Breakfast can be ordered the night before and there was a well equipped kitchen, with complimentary milk available, although I didn’t see a microwave there. There is a water refill station just past the entrance. In the evening we walked into the village for a pub meal which is a 10-15 minute walk. Rooms and facilities fairly standard.

酒店回复: Thanks for the feedback. We've had a replacement microwave installed, you were here during the wait for it to be delivered. I wouldn't describe us as a hostel for older people, we are usually packed with families and school parties from April to September.

Room 4 was comfortable and well-heated, windows can be opened if necessary. There's a sink in the room (not drinking water) which was handy for brushing teeth and shaving. Several shower rooms and bathrooms down the hall with hot water (after a very short wait). Hostel wasn't very crowded so it was pretty quiet. Staff were really friendly and helpful and always ready to fix a tasty filter coffee for less than three quid. Didn't try food as I was often out first thing in the morning to catch a bus to Exeter (one a day), to Branscombe (tough walk back along coast path), Bridport (via Axminster Station), Lyme Regis and Seaton which seemed slow to wake up but had a Tesco and a Lidl as well as a nice cafe called Coast Cafe. Seaton Tramway was fun, nice walk around Colyton and in the Seaton Wetlands if you buy an Explorer ticket for the trams. 10/15 minute walk towards the beach brings you to plenty of bakeries, pubs, fish and chips shop and a well-stocked local store (closes at 6pm). The lack of crowds made it seem much more of a holiday.

We had a fab time. We came with another family and all stayed in a room for 5 which was an experience in itself. The team working at the hostel were great, really friendly and efficient, especially Rachel. Only down side was when some hungry cyclists ate all the lovely berries at breakfast one day before we got down to breakfast, but there was plenty else to have instead. Great location for exploring the Jurassic Coast

Lovely arts and crafts YHA on the edge of a beautiful little seaside village. Small and friendly. Had a nice ground floor private room, shared facilities and breakfast was good. Would visit again when in the area. Lots to do and see locally and lots of places to eat in Beer.

Camped here for a few days in October and it was just lovely. Beautiful location with camping for 4 tents (& 2 fixed Yurts) just outside the main building. Car parking between the tents and the YHA. Great facilities. Beer and surroundings is lovely too!

It has an amazing location on the edge of the village and all its facilities, but you feel like you are in the countryside when you are there. Easy access to other villages along the stunning Jurassic coastal footpath.
