Booked a king size room there was only a double bed in it, had to wait half an hour after phoning several times to be let into the property, tea and coffee was only enough for 1 cup each , decor from the 70s felt very much like a hostel not a hotel, definitely won't be returning

The location and parking were convenient enough for one night. The check in procedure was horrendous. You are left at the front door constantly ringing the bell and calling a number until someone phones the staff inside to let you in. Then that staff member stays on the phone to them to find out the keysafe code to let you into your room. Completely unprofessional. The room was clean enough and very basic. There was only one bedside table and one plug socket on the other side of the room that was used up by the kettle and tv. The en suite was abysmal. The toilet lid was broken off completely. The pipework for the shower was fully visible. There was mould in the shower. The toilet leaked and flooded the floor whenever it was used. You had serious risk of concussion from the ill placed shelf above the sink. The bed was comfortable enough and we would have slept well had it not been for the genuine torture of a constant tapping all through the night. It sounded like water dripping into the room/space above or onto the roof outside the window. Dripping makes it sound like it was quiet but it was LOUD and heavy and it went on until we checked out. All in all, it wasn't worth the money, despite it being comparatively cheap to other hotels nearby. We will not be staying here again.

We booked the hotel after checking reviews but they were inaccurate and untrue. It is more like a rundown hostel than a hotel. Staff unavailable and unhelpful on phone. Room so small that the double bed was pushed against the wall. No headboard no facilities and filthy dirty

Disgusting hell hole! No staff to be seen, you would have a cleaner nicer atmosphere at a dirty hostel! Disgusting owners above rooms keeping everyone awake all night, wont explain that in detail plus banging and slamming doors all night long till 9am. Had a child with us so we were left £260 out of pocket by having to book a new hotel. This place needs shutting down. Refused a refund for us having to leave aswell.

This has to be the worst stay in a ‘hotel’ I have ver had! More like a hostel. For alcoholics drug takers and asylum seekers Not good for woman-realy rough area! Witnessed drunken arguments in reception Questionable smells throughout the place! Found a toenail on my pillow. Carpets smell like feet! Literally paid too much at £32 a night and it shouldn’t be advertised as a hotel at all!! Do yourself a favour and do not stay here! Very dodgy place! Not well kept at all! Shower is awful and condensation all on the windows did not sleep a wink in 4 nights couldn’t wait to get out of the place Couldn’t get anyone at reception most of the time and with the dodgy characters around very worrying Wierd combination locks on the outside of the doors of each room made me wonder why is that necessary?? Traumatised after my stay rather than relaxed

Terrible hotel. We don't usually take too much notice of reviews( as a lot of people are far too picky) but on this occasion I wish we had. The good point first.. bed comfy room clean...that's it. It is very very basic and outdated . The walls are paper thin and the floorboards really really creaky. The kettle isn't big enough to make two full cups of tea and there is only one bedside table??? The main problem though is the clientel..its more like a doss house than a hotel. There are notices about keeping the noise down between 8pm and 8am but there is nobody on site after 11 pm to enforce this ,there was a fight in the room next to us at 2.30 In the morning , very scary for a mature couple getting woke up by this. The first morning I was woken before 6 am to really loud " bedroom activities".. to be honest I wish we had left that day, but we gave it the benefit of the doubt when we were told that the people had left that day......so I'd say don't stay here if you are a responsible, nice person who just wants a nice little weekend break.

DO NOT STAY THERE The hotel isn’t interested in you having a pleasant stay they are just interested in the money, they have no staff at night no contact if there’s any problems and if you do manage to contact ‘Payman Club’ they don’t give a damn. So if there was a fire or other issues it’s sort yourself out. They are quite happy for people to have parties in the hotel even letting none residents join in and not bothered if they disturb other residents.

It’s now 5 am and we have been trying to sleep while a rowdy group of visitors are having a drug fuelled party that’s been going all night The whooshing of the nitrous oxide capsules can be heard through the extremely paper thin walls And the music is so loud Management are no where to be found There is no emergency contact and we have never been so terrified and we fear to say anything as there are so many of them

We had a lovely stay. The receptionist showed us to our room and was really helpful. The room was clean and comfy. For the price it is good value. Slept really well. Friendly guests. We will be going back next time we stay in Torquay.
