am not someone whose posts many reviews, and this property isn’t terrible, but the multiple minor issues were enough to be very annoying. Enough so that we will make a point to avoid staying here again.
We stayed in this hotel a year ago and I don’t recall any issues. The lobby appears nice, possibly recently renovated. The rest of the hotel is run down. Our room had a musty odor. That said it did seem to be clean and the heat/AC worked well.
The first thing I usually do in a room is set up charging cables for our phones and tablets using the bedside outlets.
I was initially encouraged because each bedside table had USB C and A ports as well as 2 AC outlets.
Unfortunately, none of them work. The USB outlets are dead and the AC outlets are so loose that even bending the prongs of our charging blocks wouldn’t create a reliable connection. No, they are not wall switch controlled.
The wall mounted headboard and built in side tables effectively block any access to actual wall outlets and the only other outlet in the room is on the opposite wall from the bed, leaving no option for bypassing the faulty outlets.
I next discovered that the Wi-Fi signal was so low that we couldn’t connect at all.
I asked for a different room, preferably nearer the lobby since presumably the Wi-Fi router would be located there.
The desk staff was very patient and helpful and provided keys for a room nearer the lobby, also explaining that the Wi-Fi had been intermittent and someon

Stayed 3 days and 2 nights. Room was dirty upon arrival. The staff stated they would clean it while we were gone. Came back after staff “cleaned” the room. Room was slightly cleaner but ultimately dirty and not to our liking. Found previous hotel guest trash in room, bathroom floor was not swept. Clothes from previous hotel guests were still in room. Microwave was dirty with food stains. Dishwasher had a gas station cup in it. Carbon monoxide detector batteries were low, replaced batteries by staff and they advised if it happened again just to take out the batteries and leave it on the desk. 0/10. Would not stay here again.

There was only one tissue in the box, less than 1/4 of toilet paper roll, light out in toilet room, only 1 towel and a bathmat when we checked in at 9:30 pm. Staff said we had to come and get tissue, then we discovered the towels. Staff brought us both but then we discovered the toilet paper. We ended up just using tissue. We were waiting to take a shower for maintenance to come and change bulb (you had to go through the shower area to get to toilet room). We gave up after 30 minutes. Staff on site in pm and am were nice, we asked them both to have a manager contact us, but 6 days later, they have not called. We didn’t want compensation, we just wanted to make sure they knew of the problems and fixed them. Not confident they care. The room was large and clean, but other essentials took over a hour and a half to resolve and the bathroom light was never resolved. We won’t stay there again.

Got locked out of room this morning for breakfast had to wait almost 2 hours till someone came in to help. It was a very rough stay.

The room was very large. It had a separate seating area with a work desk, large bathroom, very clean room and hotel and the employees were very courteous and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. The next time I'm in Lubbock. Texas.

The toilet stopped working at 1am. The water pressure to shower was low enough that it took twice as long to rinse off. Not being able to use the restroom in your own room was a huge inconvenience. Especially in the middle of the night. No one has reached out to discuss it with me. Would not recommend or go back.

This hotel, if you can get the room for no more than maybe $159 at the absolute highest, may be decent. But if you are paying even $1 above that, look elsewhere. It has been renovated to look ok, but it is poorly run, the breakfast is absolutely terrible (who serves raw potatoes when all you probably have to do is microwave them?), the bathtub looked like it was spray painted with white paint (and it sounded like we were going to fall through the floor), the bed / mattress was at an angle where you had to be careful not to roll off, and there was nobody at the front desk to help you with anything 90% of the time. Oh, and the phone lines didn't work at the property so you couldn't call the front desk if you wanted to (for instance, couldn't call anyone when the smoke alarm started going off at 12:30am). Look elsewhere, or waste your money like we did.

BED BUGS !!!!!! Room 101 the bed had bed bugs and I took photos and videos of the bed bugs moving all over the pillows. I collected several of the bed bugs in a clear bag. I reported the incident immediately to the night shift desk clerk who also took photos of the bed bugs in the bag. I checked in on Friday October 23, 2025 at 3:30pm and discovered the bed bugs at 9:30pm. The desk clerk stated that he had no other rooms available and would notify his manager about the situation. I checked out after notifying the desk clerk. I called back the next day on Saturday October 24, 2025 and spoke to a desk clerk named Kimberly who was very rude and stated no refund would be issued because I booked the hotel through a 3rd party web site. I then asked to speak with her supervisor and Kimberly stated I don't know when the manager or owner will be here. She stated they come and go as they please and have no set schedule. Kimberly also refused to give me the name of the owner. Furthermore, the toilet had urine stains under the toilet seat. The owners never reached out to me to offer any kind of the compensation or vouchers. I made a complaint to the best western complaint line. They stated that the owner replied and stated no bed bugs were found and a 3rd party was used to book the hotel so no refund would be given. Of course there was no bed bugs found when YOUR staff looked. They had several days to fix the issues. Very poor hotel.
