The staff is wonderful, and the location and lodge are absolutely stunning. The chef, Clemente Barnachea is obviously extremely talented. Everything and everyone at the Mitico Puelo Lodge has been warm, kind and helpful. The lodge manager, Catalina Yanez, deserves a special call out for making our visit one we truly will never forget.

Our stay at the Mitico Puelo Lodge was the highlight of our trip to Chile, and a truly memorable experience. It is not particularly easy to get to a three-hour drive from Puerto Montt, then a one-hour ferry down the lake, where you are picked up by the hotel's small boat. The lodge itself is a comfortable, elegant oasis in one of the most breathtaking settings we have ever been to. It has more of a well-appointed fishing lodge feel rather than a fancy hotel, with a couple of friendly dogs and a few house cats wandering around. They are completely off the grid, and power the facility with a water turbine. The staff were warm, helpful and friendly, the food was great, the rooms comfortable, and the activities (hiking and kayaking for us) pretty awe inspiring. We were only able to stay two days, but could easily have been there for five just soaking in the tranquility.

I was with my family after paying almost USD$1,000 a night, and I run into the owner to tell him a comment..at the end i joked saying the clients is "always right"..He said in a very bad manner. NEVER! Can you tell me what kind of owner said that to a client who is lodging there his family, after tourism has been stopped in Chile for almost 2 years?? This arrogant guy was unreal. The place is run down and not up to standards for those high prices. The river is contaminated with Didymo this days and has been damage for world class fly fishing so the owner should be more carful with his comments. Best wishes Puelo is still a very beautiful place, I will highly recommend Barraco Lodge, also accesible ny water and near by, where we also stayed, they were friendly, same price, and much cozier, classier and not at a large scale like Mitico
