Lovely 2 night stay and well looked after by Jeanette, very welcoming and informative. We had the Beachcomber Room with a lovely balcony with seating with a fabulous view. 10 minutes walk to the small village down the main road, with plenty of choices for dining. It's an easy downhill walk, with a slight incline on the way back. We didn't actually go to the beach, but it's not much further on from the village and from a distance looked amazing. The Beachcomber is a medium sized room with double doors opening onto the balcony and I think a 5 ft bed(?) which was a tad small for us, only as we're use to a 6ft at home, but we wanted an en suite, so went for this room over the Clipper, which I believe has a bigger bed but separate shower room literally just across the landing. The property is not modern, but it has everything you need and is very homely. There are only 2 bedrooms on the top floor which are next to each other, the apartments are below, which I don't think get the beautiful views. Lovely comfortable lounge and large breakfast table (again with a gorgeous view) which is shared with the other guests. We're not big Breakfast eaters, but the ones Jeanette cooked for other guests looked really good! The car park is at the back of the property up a very steep curved narrow drive. If you prefer a family home vibe rather than the average hotel accommodation, you'll like Jeanette's B&B. The local golf club is literally opposite the property if you're up for a round!

The room was fantastic…very clean and a great view! Our host, Jeanette, was amazing! She was extremely accommodating and helpful. Would definitely come back here again!

Great stay! Jeanette is a treasure and her attention to detail is evident. Is there anything better than waking up to a good breakfast and ocean view? Kudos for providing the break from life I was looking for!

Very comfortable and scenic apartment

Jeanette was a wonderful hostess. The apartment was extremely well- equipped ( with even a larger refrigerator) and well-laid out, with a wrap-around verandah with lovely views looking into town and out to sea.

The room and bathroom were very clean and cozy! And, Jeanette is the most amazing host! She made me feel right at home and on top of that, she has a wealth of knowledge and was very helpful as I was planning my travels. I would recommend this place to others!

Beautiful place with great Customer service

This is a beautiful place to stay with stunning views across the bay if you book a balcony room. Jeanette was excellent and very helpful when our flight was considerably delayed so we didn't arrive until very late. The breakfasts were lovely with plenty of choice. A very nice old colonial style building and the room had tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. All in all I'd highly recommend staying here.

Stay at Mangawhai Lodge

It was a very nice stay in the Lodge. Our manager was Jenette was helpful and kind and the room was immaculate. The view from our room was beautiful and morning breakfast was just right to start the day. Apart from the road works that was happening at the time of our stay it was recommended a good stay. Loved that the Lodge was close to a good walk to the beach and to shopping facilities.
