Clean room and good distance from the main *****. The room and bathroom was very small, although our trip didn’t require anything more as we were out-and-about for most of our stay. There was no parking available nearby, so we used a car park in walking distance from the hotel and it cost £14 for 2 days stay.

Terrible, would never recommend and never stay there again . The reception staff was nice and friendly Cleanliness was abysmal, bird poo on the windows. Decor was in a terrible state and the ceiling was patched up and looked like it was going to fall in. The bed was average and the carpet hadn’t been hoovered what seemed for a long time. Limited coffee etc, the shower screen fell off the tracking and the room hadn’t been dusted for a long time, as one of us is asthmatic this was appalling. We should be compensated for the state of this place. Hotel response: Thank you for your feedback. As a hotel, we always appreciate hearing from our guests, whether the feedback is positive or negative. It helps us to continually improve our services and ensure a better experience for all who stay with us. We're pleased to hear that you found our reception staff to be friendly and welcoming. However, we're truly sorry to learn about the cleanliness and maintenance issues you encountered during your stay. This falls far below the standards we aim to uphold, and we sincerely apologise for the impact it had on your experience—especially considering your concerns related to asthma and comfort. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams so that immediate corrective action can be taken. We are currently reviewing procedures to ensure rooms are properly cleaned, inspected, and maintained to prevent future occurrences. If you would be willing to reach out to us directly, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your stay in more detail and see how we can make things right. I replied directly in August and have never to this day received a response.

Staff were great, really helpful, bedrooms were fine. Although it was really cold, the rooms were really warm and comfortable for a low priced hotel. The lift didn't work but we was able to get up the stairs ok. Location was good, parking was difficult

My husband and I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and found it pleasant and in a good location we booked again due to this however this time around our stay was completely the opposite we checked in at 3 pm on a Friday for 2 nights - within an hour of being there I was looking online to move to another hotel as there wasn’t another room we could move to - the room was absolutely freezing after going back to reception to enquire about the heating we were told that they don’t heat the back of the hotel in the week I asked if it would be on soon as it was a weekend we were told that it’s normally around 18.30 and we were given a small fan heater at 19.45 the heating still hadn’t come on after going back to reception I was told that she would have to leave a note ?? while I was waiting for the lift she came out of reception someone had left the main door open and she said “people complain they’re cold but they still leave doors open “ the room itself had only a small shelf’s at the side of the bed and no others at all so we had to store most of our toiletries on our suitcase the window blinds didn’t fit properly and left a gap at the side there was also no storage in the bathroom so our toiletries had to stay in the bag on the floor the toilet was wobbly and shifted when moving unfortunately we didn’t think to bring a screwdriver to secure it and most of all we couldn’t have a shower as the water was scalding hot I spent 10 minutes trying to regulate it then my husband tried we left it to get cooler but that didn’t happen all-in-all around 30 minutes trying to cool the shower down enough to have one and come out unharmed I was ready then to throw in the towel and leave by sat evening there was still no heating luckily we spent most of our weekend out of the room as planned but it was still the worst stay I have ever had in Blackpool there is definitely NOTHING royal about this hotel at all !!!

Alri Avoid this place like the plague (which, judging by the mould, may already live here). My partner and I wanted a relaxing October half-term break in Blackpool — instead, we got a horror movie filmed in peeling wallpaper and damp. The photos online must’ve been taken in a parallel universe. In reality? Mouldy furniture, bird droppings on the window, wallpaper hanging on for dear life, and a TV that last worked when dial-up internet was still a thing. The shower? A polite drizzle — and only warm if you run the tap and perform a small prayer ritual first. The toilet took an age to flush, rust covered everything metal, and the whole place smelled like disappointment. I complained to reception — the response was a heartfelt “Oh right,” followed by being told to book somewhere else. Even they knew it was a lost cause. Tiles missing on the steps (a lovely trip hazard), staff with all the enthusiasm of a damp sponge, and a hole in the ceiling on the third floor to really complete the experience. Breakfast was “continental,” if by continental you mean “bread exists.” We went elsewhere after that. The only saving grace was the manager, who actually tried to help. But honestly, if you value your sanity, go to the Ruskin across the road. Trust me — even The Twits would’ve checked out early.

Very clean comfortable rooms and the staff were all amazing. The lift on one side of the hotel was broke but that is not within the staff’s control. Will definitely return

Disappointing, the rooms we got were definitely nothing like the ones advertised. Upon arrival we checked in to be told we had to pay a £50 deposit for room yet there was no mention of this upon booking, paid the money and went to our rooms only to fine the very poor and shabby room. We booked a double and not the standard but the next one up to find that it was one of the tiniest rooms we've ever stayed in . The double bed was pushed up to the wall at one side giving just enough room to walk down the other side. We then decided to check the bed as the room wasn't the cleanest or in the best condition , this then flagged up that the bed base was broken and had MDF boards on both parts of the base and they weren't fastened together either . The wardrobe rocked from side to side when opened and the drawers were the same and also dirty inside so wouldn't put our things in either. We decided to try and make the most of it as we're told we couldn't change rooms due to being fully booked. This was when we noticed that there were also refugees in the hotel. The hotel.advertises a 24hr bar with entertainment on an evening, both evenings the bar was closed and drinks could only be purchased from the reception which we did after she told us we would have to wait 10 minutes because she was the only staff member on and had other things to do first ( I know not her fault and she shouldn't have been on her own at night time ). Breakfast was ok but not fantastic very basic and some of the pastries on offer were very dry and a bit stale like they had been left out or left over from previous day. Before we checked out we went to ***** the bed as we always do when we go away and what a big mistake that was , we found numerous dirty stains on the mattress that looked like blood and this was on both sides , this made us feel quite ill that we had actually slept in that bed that ahoukd in all honesty be burned. When we checked out we weren't asked if we'd had a good stay so I purposely told the girl on reception about the state of the bed ro which she just smiled and said "ok" nit the response i would have expected but thats the one we got. Would we stay here again , absolutely not . This is definitely a case of false advertising.
