We went here for Sunday lunch with extended family to celebrate a birthday . There is a delightful dining area and we had the big table. The food was all delicious and the service excellent - attentive without being intrusive. Would certainly return here.

Lovely pub , rooms are decorated to a great taste . Our room was facing the road , but it was quiet in the evening until about 7/8 am . We were a bit too hot in the room but could not open the window because of the road traffic. Morgan the manager was amazing host , she looked after us fantastically and was very friendly . The only thing we were disappointed in was the food . Not a great taste and just very bland. Breakfast was ok but it cost us £50 for two people . Just normal full English . We would defo stay here again , but probably eat somewhere else .

I recently stayed at the Leicester Arms in Penshurst for two nights, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. The inn has a lovely oldy worldy charm blended with modern touches, and has been tastefully refurbished. The staff were warm, friendly, making us feel right at home. The gardens and patio areas are a real highlight. Beautifully maintained, with plenty of character, and arranged so you can enjoy the surroundings without feeling crowded. The tables are generously spaced, and each area has its own charm. The food was delicious. The inn itself has so much character, and our room, though on the smaller side, was cosy, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. Penshurst is a picturesque village, and the Leicester Arms is the perfect place to enjoy it.

I visited the Leicester during what had to be one of their busiest nights, and I was incredibly impressed with how well the staff handled everything. Despite the crowd, we were greeted warmly, seated quickly, and never left waiting long for drinks or food. Both the bar and restaurant team was friendly, efficient, and clearly working hard, but never let the pressure affect their great attitude. It’s rare to see that level of service when a place is packed. On top of that, the atmosphere was lively and the food and drinks were excellent. A huge shoutout to the staff for keeping things running smoothly and making everyone feel welcome. Will definitely be back, thank you!

Lovely Staff, But Serious Issues with the Room – 19 July Stay The staff at the Leicester Arms couldn’t have been nicer or more willing to help — they were friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best. They even left a thoughtful handwritten card apologizing for the bathroom flood and the fan noise, which was a kind gesture and much appreciated. However, the issues with our stay were significant and quite surprising given that we were in the most expensive suite. When we arrived, the room was extremely hot. Opening the windows let in a deafening roar from a fan on the flat roof — it was obvious this was why the windows had been kept shut. Later, the bathroom flooded due to a leaking shower. When I reported this, the manager acknowledged it was a known issue. I used our towels to mop up the floor and had to ask for more. To make things worse, the room filled with flies, presumably from the kitchen. I was assured the fan noise would stop by 8:45pm once the kitchen closed, but by 10pm it was still running and just as loud. I was told a manager would come to check, but no room change or effective solution was offered. Then, at 8am on Sunday, the roaring fans started up again — ending any hope of a peaceful morning. I raised the question: if these problems are known, why is this suite — the most expensive one — still being sold at over £200 a night, and positioned right next to the noise source? Why hasn’t the bathroom issue been fixed? The staff did what they could in the moment, but the experience fell far short of what you’d expect at this price point. I left tired, disappointed, and out of pocket. I do hope the management addresses these issues seriously, as they completely overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable stay.

Gorgeous traditional English county Inn with renovated rooms. We had the basic room . Quite compact but very comfortable - need a mirror in the bedroom . Food in the restaurant was very good , service a little slow . Lovely outside garden to enjoy.

This is a beautiful pub in a lovely location. It's very convenient for Penshurst Place. The room was lovely. We were there in a heatwave and it was great that they had provided a fan in the room. There were a few details in the room that could have been improved: the only mirror was in the bathroom; the only bin was in the bathroom; it would have been nice if some small things had been provided, such as tissues, and a dish to put your teaspoon on after making a cup of tea. The staff that we met were very friendly and helpful, but it seemed that they were short staffed. Service in the restaurant was slow, both for dinner and breakfast (they weren't busy). We stayed for 2 nights, and our room didn't get a housekeeping visit or supplies replenished while we were there. We would stay again if we needed to be in the location, but we wouldn't go out of our way to stay there.

Perfect countryside stay at a stylish boutique hotel. The room/bathroom was beautiful with high end furnishings. Great British menu choice. Enjoyed dinner on Saturday evening & Sunday lunch. Penshurst Place is definitely worth a visit
