The only missing star was because of the lorries on the nearby main road otherwise I could not fault my stay. The hosts were so welcoming and the catering was simply outstanding. Excellent all round.

We really enjoyed staying at this guest house. The hosts were welcoming and helpful rooms were lovely and well equipped and the pool and gardens lovely to chill in; even if drought meant it wasn't to hosts' preferred standard. The home cooked authentic food was delicious and will be trying at home too. Was part of a tour, so don't know cost for this guesthouse but considering what was included great.

This was a two night stopover as part of a longer Garden Route tour. What a lovely place to stay. After a nice welcome from the owners we were shown to our cabin. Very well equipped with all the basic essentials. A nice touch with the sweet wine sample. Very comfortable bed and a lovely powerful shower. The food served up was amazing, with ostrich and kudo being the main protein. The vegetables and polenta were very tasty. There was a small pool if you fancied a dip. The water fridge and honesty box is a nice touch. Overall a very nice stay and well worth booking if you’re down that way.

We stayed at House Martin in de Rust for two days the last weekend of January with friends. Our hosts Jan and Theresa was fantastic and Jan prepared the most delicious breakfasts and dinners which was served by two friendly ladies. Our room with en-suite bathroom and aircon and a comfortable queen bed was perfect. At the pool area there was tables and chairs where we could sit till late night and enjoy the fresh Karoo air and silence. The two days felt like a long holiday. Great. Just great! We are so happy we choce to stay at House Martin. And by coincidence on a Friday. So we got the amazing braai experience. Room was comfortable, breakfast good and Theresa and Jan were the best of hosts! We will be back.

Excellent accommodation. Hosts received us with their warm, friendliness. Made us feel so welcome. The room was well equipped, the food was outstanding. The hosts prepared the food themselves, they were there in the background all the time, without ever feel that they intrude on the privacy of the guesrs. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay with Theresa and Jan. The Lodge was very comfortable furnished in a very unique style, there was a very welcome little pool and beautiful gardens despite the lack of rain. Theresa and Jan were so welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing with very generous portions. It was like being part of their family staying there. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
