Prime Resort in an original Mexican Hacienda built originally about 400 years ago. The place was used to produce Sisal fibres of plants. The old machinery, including a steam engine, are still there to be seen during some free tours. Hotel rooms are first class, very high rooms, incredible spacy with warm interior out of an expensive country style design catalogue. Worth a longer stroll is the extensive garden around the property and the pool/SPA area which offers good views to the Hacienda’s buildings and the old Sisal production machines. The true burner, however, is the Restaurant which offers a good selection of local foods as good as it is only availabe in CDMX best restaurants. Also very positive are the motivated people working there.

This is an incredible hotel. It’s like real old school, Mexico. It’s probably the most authentic place we went to in Mexico. Really, really fantastic. But do avoid the rooms in the old stables as they look a bit dark. The pool is gorgeous and the location really interesting.

This place is so cool it's ridiculous. I'm never sure why there aren't more guests but having the staff working almost for yourself alone is part of the charm. The crazy thing about this particular one of the haciendas is that the food is also world class. Pro tip: don't miss the steam engine and note that the boiler is being lifted out of the old boiler room by the tree that grew under it. The boiler is so big that your mind might miss what it's really going on with it.

Hacienda Temozón is a GEM and possibly one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Mexico. My wife and I spent one night here on a short visit from Mérida, using a free night certificate from my Chase IHG credit card. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with cool towels and refreshing glasses of ice cold jamaica juice. The hacienda itself is incredible - beautiful colonial buildings that have been fully restored, a gorgeous swimming pool with shaded lounge areas, and stunning grounds. Our suite was luxurious, featuring a very comfortable king size bed, a spacious bathroom with shower and a separate tub, cable TV, a minibar, outdoor hot tub, and as an IHG platinum member we were provided with thoughtful touches of complimentary bottles of mineral water and a basket of fresh watermelon, cantaloupe, and chocolates. We also appreciated the high-quality soaps and bath products. After returning to our room from dinner, we were delighted to find a small surprise - slices of chocolate cake and a carafe of water, a nice touch that made our stay feel even more special. The food at the on-site restaurant was excellent, and the service was top notch. The hacienda is in the middle of nowhere. There isn’t much else to do in the immediate area, so bring a book, unplug, and prepare to relax.
