I didn't spend too much time in the hotel except to sleep and have breakfast, but it was clean, smelled good, and the breakfasts were good, although I would like more bacon :). When I interacted with anyone at the front desk they were very friendly and helpful. The bartender, Matthew, was so patient to deal with our rowdy group! Bed was lumpy but decent.

We love to make a weekend out of our ISF trip, and this was our 4th year now staying overnight at a hotel..we’ve had some trial and errors the last 3 times but THIS year we found the winner! Hyatt Place was truly everything it claimed to be and more! Main uses of the room of course is to sleep and shower, so why does it really matter where we stay?! The location was super convenient and comfortable being near the outlet mall, there’s a variety of places to eat real close by, it took us no time at all to get to the fairgrounds, and their cleaning crew is truly top tier! We’ve stayed a different place each year and sadly did not have great experiences, but the Hyatt stole our hearts only adding to a trip we look forward to every year! We would highly recommend them to all, you won’t be disappointed! (already booking for 2026) Thank you so much, and we’ll see you next time!

Great Hotel!

Lovely hotel. Ne, clean and very pet friendly. Really enjoyed our stay. Large pet area, which was ideal for us. Beautiful room and good breakfast. Overall a very good stay.

Best hotel stay I’ve had in a VERY long time!! Super friendly staff, including the manager who made it a point to greet every single staff member and guest she saw. Beautiful clean property and the BEST free hotel breakfast I’ve EVER had!!! I actually hate staying at hotels, but this stay was so pleasant, it actually changed my attitude completely!!!

Des Moines Gem!

Hotel is immaculate and in a quiet part of town. Lot's of parking, shopping and restaurants within very short walk and easy on off to get in to town. Highly recommended.

Extremely clean and modern

Such a nice clean hotel with a indoor pool and hot tub. Everything was so modern and clean. Love the Burger Shed restaurant next door that you can walk to after a long day at Adventureland. Excellent location being right across from the huge Des Moines Outlet mall and a 5 minute drive to Adventureland. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Altoona.

Room was warm but the rest was good.

We never contacted the office about it but our room never got below 72 degrees when we had it set at 68 to try and get it to 70. Even with all the window blinds closed and us hardly being there it usually was around 75 for us at night. Had another couple with us and there room was probably worse than ours.

On the positive the breakfast was good and the front desk saw us with water bottles and offered to fill all four of ours with ice water without us even asking.
