We stayed for a week at Villa Marine in May. Lovely tranquil place, adjacent to a patch of rainforest and short walk to the beach. Apartment was clean and comfortable with access to a laundry. Lovely veranda shaded by tropical plants. We loved Peter’s collection of amazing artefacts along the verandas and in the different rooms. As birders it was ideal for us being close to Cattana Wetlands and Yorkey’s Lagoon and a short drive into Cairns Esplanade & the Botanical Gardens. Also close to Smithfield shopping centre that has everything you might need for self catering etc all in one location. Peter and Romy were excellent hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed and had loads of information on hand of where to go and what to see. We’ll be back for sure!

We stayed 3 nights after intending 2. It's clean, private, coz& pet friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful- above and beyond 👍 5 minutes from the beach. Great food nearby. Highly recommended it. 🥰

We had a wonderful family holiday in this beautiful beachside apartments. Such a peaceful, relaxing setting with a pool and air con which was essential for us Irish folk! The art work and decorative shells were very impressive. The rooms were clean and kitchen had all utensils you might need. Sitting out in the evening in the porch chilling out was just what was required after day trips to Cairns and surrounding areas. Peter was very helpful, always around if we needed him but not overbearing. He listened to what we wanted for our day trips, offered advice based on his vast knowledge and experience and then booked excursions for us. He is a gentleman and happily chatted to my 73 year old dad about the array of local birds. This accomodation is ideal for all ages. Thanks for a wonderful memorable holiday!

Disappointing and distressing
Book my stay on a day prior and received confirmation of my booking only to receive and email on landing in Carnis from Sydney that the hotel would not honour my booking leaving me stranded without a hotel room which was very distressing .

We were so concerned for this guest enquiry that we personally rang the company that's system made the booking on the night prior to the suggested arrival date and we advised them we were already full and spoke to 3 persons in a call centre advising them our system had already been closed , we were full , unfortunately couldnt accommodate them & to advise the person making the enquiry , yet we continued to receive requests the following day when again we advised again we were already full . In this instance maybe a check with where one is to sleep is worthwhile. We hope this person can stay with us on another occasion and experience not only the unique accommodation & location but the caring, quality customer service our staff are famous for. Villa Marine

A very pleasant stay and I have already suggested to my family to come again next year. Short stroll to the beach, plenty to do in the area, great day trips available to book at the on-site Visitor Information Centre too. The Cairns Art Gallery and The Cairns Aquarium are well worth a visit. As are the many and varied restaurants in Cairns and Port Douglas. Villa Marine is the best choice for a quiet break but close enough to all the action when desired. The apartments here are all self contained, comfortable and well appointed. This hotel is not too big and there is absolutely no hustle and bustle to deal with. Lovely pool and lots of walking and hiking opportunities in the region. The gardens, rainforest and bird life were a special attraction for me. Excellent customer service and lots of useful local knowledge was readily provided by the Management Team and staff. Thank you Villa Marine.

Loved the delightful decor of the rooms, the idyllic setting and proximity to the beach. Peter shared his extensive knowledge of the area, making suggestions that matched our interests. As a result we had an outstanding day at Michaelmas cay and also enjoyed exploring the Cattana wetlands. Peter displays genuine care for guests to ensure they get the best out of their stay in Yorkey’s Knob. Would thoroughly recommend.
