We went to Sandals Ochi in the middle of October for our 5 year anniversary. We stayed in the newly renovated butler poolside villa. Our butlers were Richard and Cameka. We have been to Royal Caribbean and St Lucia Grande before this trip and honestly, this was one of our favorite resorts ever! Then take into consideration the price and it is hard not to only come back here! First off the butlers... I mean they have now set the bar so high. All of our special requests from different liquors to our dinner reservations to special treats were all taken care of. We had multiple surprise desserts and snacks and decorations in our room. And then on our anniversary they surprised us with a picnic with all of our favorite foods. One night I didn't feel well. I had a tickle in my throat and Richard made me a homemade remedy of honey, rum and lime juice. It was so sweet! Buffet breakfast was my favorite! They had a ton of fresh options. Southern Table was AMAZING! Get the special drink and the peach cobbler! If I had to pick any bad issues... the bed is very firm while the pillows are not. I would start the night slightly elevated and after 30 mins have zero support. Also, Vista Sky was about a 2.5 hour dinner for some reason. I actually think they forgot about us but hey we are still in Jamaica. I do wish they had Crown Apple on hand but I had no problem making other drinks. One last bad was the pizza. They recently changed either the dough or the cheese and it is not good at all. Please change back! Lastly I would never go to a different resort ever again if they got the coffee house they have over at Dunns. That was amazing!

The good: Craig and Kirkpatrick at the polo lounge were amazing and their drinks were on point. Dennis Fowler at the Dive center was amazing as always. James at the Nurse station did a fantastic job with my wife after she got hurt on an excursion. The entire spa staff did an amazing job taking care of my wife. Lady O and Big Joe were great at helping book another trip. The club concierge were great at getting us reservations when we needed them. The annoying - The wifi was down by the room for the entire trip which is annoying since internet access is needed to access the room service menu and to book things through the app. There were constant power issues while we were there. The newly renovated room had several issues including the ac unit draining into the room, front door was very difficult to close, the patio had an issue with not being able to drain water that came in from the rain to the point we had to put towels infront of the door to keep water out of the room, the key cards had to be reprogrammed at least once a day and it took over a day to deal with a fire alarm that wouldn’t stop chirping. Unfortunately when we asked about moving rooms no other room was available. Renovations going on to building next to us resulted in waking up to heavy equipment jack hammers and concrete saws daily. The seaside lobby was also under construction. The Hillside main building either kept catching on fire or had an issue with the fire alarms because they were constantly going off resulting in having to evacuate the building during meals, while trying to book a return trip, or at the polo lounge. There were roof leaks in several places in the resort including different restaurants. The bad - Even though Island routes operates out of Sandals if you have an issue Island Routes the response from sandals is it’s a third party company they can’t help you and they can’t do anything about incorrect or fraudulent charges. It took four days of arguing with Island routes and escalating the problem to the GM of the resort I still got the answer of they can’t make Island routes do something if they don’t want to. While I understand that Island routes and Sandals are two separate companies when Island routes is owned by the CEO of Sandals Adam Stewart they should be held to the same customer service standards that is expected of Sandals and Sandals management should be able to something when they don’t meet the expectations set by Sandals.

For a detailed honest review, check out my review on the g**g*e reviews. Not enough room here. Internet was horrible and was needed for work to be done. We got no work done. Food was terrible for the most part. Sushi and omelette stations were the highlight. Rooms falling apart. In need of serious updates. Staff was over all uninterested and unfriendly. A few bartenders in the pool by amphitheater were fun. Hibachi staff was nice. Dancers practiced the same 2 song dances for 4 days straight playing Smooth Criminal and Footloose no less than 100 times. All while the pool bar had music going as well. ANNOYING. The shaded chairs on the beach were amazing. The beach and ocean were wonderful. This resort boasts wheelchair accessible and I will warn with my whole chest - THIS IS NOT ACCESSIBLE AT ALL. We have am adult son in a wheelchair so we look through those glasses everywhere we go. I would have lost my mind if we had paid what we did and brought him there. BE WARNED! Stairs to get everywhere and only elevators to the rooms. Any mobility issues will not love this place. The views were beautiful and the wedding g we were there for was amazing!!! Overall: Skip it and go elsewhere!
