Beautiful lodge! We were greeted after a long day of biking the Congo Nile trail with fresh squeezed juice and warm hospitality. The view and beach at the resort is absolutely beautiful! Had a delicious dinner and breakfast at the restaurant as well. Room was comfortable and modern, we really enjoyed our stay!

Chéf Emmy at Rushel is one of the best I’ve ever met! He puts on your plate exactly what you want and adds some love to it! The views and service is awesome but the chéf is extraordinary. I can’t wait to go back!

The Rushel Lodge is definitely a nice place to stay. Rooms are clean and spacious. The grounds are green and easy to find a good spot. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Whether for food , getting set up at the beach or other. We also recommend visiting the coffee washing station right next door. The only downside is the lack of prior communication on how to get there. The road there is 10 km of difficult road, especially if it has rained. We did not know! It is true if you dig on their website, it says somewhere, 10 km if rough road. If we would have known, we would have come by boat via Gisenyi or Kibuye, like most visitors. This was the only negative point to mention.

Great service and comfortable tent stay on Lake Kivu. The tent was spacious and charming. The service at the lodge was very good. The food was delicious! I had one of my best meals in Rwanda at their restaurant (steak with fried plantain and greens)

The resort is a perfect place for everyone. I stayed there for three weeks as part of my winter vacation because I needed a place where I can get connected with the nature, enjoying morning birds songs, feel the fresh air from Kivu lake and surrounding kinunu hills. I stayed in the tent but it was luxurious and comfortable inside and outside with a very amazing lake and garden view , I felt I was staying in a five star hotel room❤️. Staff were professional and friendly, enjoyed natural food and juice from Rushel farm. Lastly but not least I enjoyed hiking and visiting INYAMBO ( Rwanda traditional cows with long horns) at the nearest island called Bugarura. I would say that Rushel Kivu Resort is the mother hotel on the Kivu belt from Rubavu to Rusizi. They deserve four to five star instead of three star !

We enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Clean, green, very well-kept compound. They grow fruit and vegetables for their use, and everything comes fresh from the garden. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cecile from reception and Amani in the restaurant, to mention some of them.
