Cannua is the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. We spent the weekend in Cartagena prior to this and this was a much needed quiet escape for us. The food was incredible, the staff were so kind and knowledgeable. And the story behind the hotel brought tears to my eyes. For starters - the airport transfer we booked from Medellin through Cannua was seamless. We read reviews that warned us about a curvy and bumpy ride, so we took herbal Dramamine and I had no issue at all - and I’m prone to motion sickness. Once we arrived we were given welcome cocktails and sat back and relaxed and took in the beautiful view. After lunch, we went to our cabaña which reviews warned us would feel like a hike and they were not wrong! But we loved the experience of walking the incline through the beautifully kept grounds to get to our cabaña - the view from it was incredible. Plus a kind member of the staff impressively hauled our luggage to our room with ease. After we settled in - we returned to the lodge for our sunset hike. We weren’t able to be accompanied by staff members - but the hike was straight forward and we felt super safe. It was one of my favorite experiences of the whole trip. After we hiked to the top and observed a flock of blue winged mountain tanagers in their natural habitat - we got lost hike cocktails at the lodge. Our favorite was the Dr. Cannua. The next day we started early with a birding tour booked through cannua - we toured the grounds with experts who showed us so many birds and taught us so much. The end of the tour came with a list of the species we witnessed for our life list and professional zoom lens photos of the birds from the tour. We spent the rest of the day lounging and took a permaculture tour with Fabs where we learned the story behind Cannua which was so beautiful. Fabs was such a delight as a server an as a guide. For dinner we had such good food - you must try the sweet potato squash foam and the chicken confit - it’s unreal. The next day we checked out and booked a private tour to Guatape ending in Medellin through Cannua this was so incredible. I can’t recommend this place enough - it has two Michelin keys but I’d give it three. This was such a unique experience, I wouldn’t trade it for the world

My wife and I extensively travel with another couple. My wife is a travel advisor and always chooses great places to stay. Cannua Lodge delivered. Describing what was the best part of our stay in any particular order would not do it justice: The lodge's accommodations, the people, the food, the cocktails, the guided experiences, etc, were all equally OUTSTANDING. Of particular note was the spectacular staff and menu; food direct from the garden, the wonderful view from our room, the Rum tasting and the chocolate tasting experiences. It's hard to describe the efforts the founders made to support the local community and the environment. I slept like a baby, and I ate and drank like a king. Just go there and find out for yourself. You'll be glad you did, The value highly surpassed the cost.

We truly enjoyed this beautiful property nestled in a quiet hillside with forever views of the valleys below. The gardens and pathways full of flowers were lovely. The room had huge windows with plenty of light and minimalist decor. The staff were sweet and welcoming. Good healthy menu with locally grown produce. Only reason I gave them 4 stars is that it’s a bit desolate with a long drive out to any services. Nevertheless great stay.

We had a truly relaxing stay at Cannua Lodge. The views are stunning, and our Cabaña was beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Service throughout the stay was attentive and genuinely personable. The English spoken by Fab and the reception team was perfect, which made everything even smoother. A special shout-out to Fab, who guided all our activities and was absolutely fabulous - passionate, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. The waterfall hike, chocolate tasting, and permaculture tour were all highlights and are highly recommended. We felt very safe both at the lodge and in Medellín city, which made the entire trip even more enjoyable. The road leading to the lodge is a little bumpy toward the end, but completely manageable on your own with a car. Once you arrive, the experience is more than worth it. Food and drink prices at the restaurant were very affordable, and the meals themselves were delicious. Cannua Lodge offers a unique and memorable experience, and it absolutely deserves its 2 Michelin Keys. A must-visit if you’re in the Medellín area.

Cannua was absolutely incredible from the day we booked to the (sad) day we departed. Service was top notch and the food was amazing. A few days before arrival, I messaged the hotel on WhatsApp and asked for assistance booking a ride from our hotel in Medellin to Cannua. They quickly replied and took care of the arrangements. The ride took about an hour and 15 mins. The last bit of the ride was a bit bumpy, but unavoidable to get to the beautiful mountainside location. Reception Walking in, the initial view of the valley is breathtaking. I can only compare it to seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. We were greeted with some incredible passion fruit and white wine welcome drinks, and sat out on the terrace, taking in the view while they took our passports and checked us in. The Cabin The initial reveal was slightly underwhelming because all the shades were closed, but as soon as we opened them up, OH MY GOD. We had a view of the entire valley, exactly like what we saw from the terrace at check-in, we saw from our bed. It was incredible. Downstairs, we had a sitting area with a pull-out bed, clothing storage with shelves and plenty of hangers, and a bathroom with a large shower. The water pressure was excellent, and the hot water was consistent and always available. There was also a mini fridge with some beer, wine, water, and snacks, along with a kettle, French press, and coffee. Upstairs was a very comfortable bed and a desk where we were able to work and take calls while looking out the windows. Excellent Wifi from all over the property. PRO TIP: Sleep with the shades open and wake up with sunrise to see the clouds burn off, revealing the valley below. EXPERT TIP: Only open the shades at night after you've turned off all the lights inside. The Food The food was delicious and made with intention. They used produce grown by them or from other local sources, and added edible flowers and other touches that made each plate unique. The servers (Sebastian and Fabs) explained each dish, where things came from, why things were paired, and how we should try them to experience different tastes. My favorite was the coconut cream corn. It’s 100% not what you think it is, and it’s amazing. The first night, I asked for the bill, and they said, “No sir, it’s all automatically billed to your room.” It felt like staying at an all inclusive. And it was all VERY reasonably priced. (Like, all the food and drinks for two people over 4 days only cost maybe $200) The Experiences We didn’t plan ahead for things to do while we were there, so we ended up with a slightly less than ideal schedule, but it wasn't a big deal. We just had to do a hike on our own and a coffee tasting at 4:30 in the afternoon. Coffee and Chocolate Tasting: This was an awesome experience led by Fabs, who was super knowledgeable about both subjects. He explained a lot about how the coffee was grown and the process, and then brewed the same coffee three different ways, so we
