Water pressure nonexistent. I think housekeeping must have noticed it when they clean but obviously it is not addressed. Some staff nice others not so nice. It's ok but wouldn't go back.

I really enjoyed my stay here at the Hampton Inn Bartow. The room fit my needs, and both the room itself and lobby area was clean. The staff were great and incredibly friendly. The complimentary breakfast was amazing and truly some of the best I’ve had. The Apple Maps featured reviews paint a poor picture for this hotel. I really enjoyed my experience and am looking forward to my next stay when in the area

My kid's and I have been staying at this hotel for several years during our summer vacation. Unfortunately, we will not be able to stay here any longer. With each passing year, the hotel falls more into disrepair. And this year we were fending for ourselves to find what we needed. Examples: Guest guides, pen, paper? No longer in the room. Shade by the pool (a basic umbrella) to watch your kids? No longer available. TV channel guide? I was told they changed providers and didn't know what the channel lineup was. You have basic TV but do not know what is on. Heating / Cooling? The thermostat was broken and we were told to use the controls on the unit by the window. This was not shared during check-in however. Wi-Fi? Hit and miss. We had to resort to using the business center downstairs to do something simple as we could not stay connected in the room. The front desk did provide a promo code for the paid / upgraded Wi-Fi but we were told that it probably wouldn't make a difference. Very encouraging. Hotel rooms including these used to be cleaned properly every day. We were there 8 days and the room was serviced twice. Even every other day didn't happen. The first day it was cleaned our door was left open by the cleaning staff as it doesn't close and lock unless you give it a good yank. Each day we emptied our own garbage and tried to find clean towels. The rooms and the hotel in general are in desperate need of a deep cleaning. It is readily apparent that costs have been cut and staffing has been reduced. But you can cut too far and that is clearly the case here. What was once a pleasant and relaxing destination has turned into constant frustration. There is mold on the blinds, mold on the wall, and mold (or burn marks) by the light switch. The laundry facility still takes 8 quarters for a load of laundry or to use the dryer. There is no change machine. And the front desk has no change. We were told at 10:30 PM to drive to laundry mat in the shopping center next door. OK. Laundry mat was closed. The maintenance man who unclogged our sink was very helpful but obviously can only do so much.

I have over 1 million 200 thousand points, travel often and love Hilton. This was without doubt the worst experience ever. It should be called a kennel not a hotel. Dogs left alone in rooms howling because they are in an unfamiliar place. No issue with dogs, but they should not be left alone in rooms. Staff does not care if you get to sleep or get rest. They never cleaned my room, and staff would be snippy if you complained about noise, at 2 am keeping you awake. Stay away. Horrific place. There is a Tru by Hilton in Sebring which is where I moved to and it was wonderful.

Horrific management not controlling people who use a hotel for rest and relaxation. People partying exceptionally loud and the hotel will take no action. People leave their dogs on New Years even alone in rooms and go out to party. Dogs scared to death of fireworks and go crazy. I have over 1 million probably twice that diamond member and never ever had a problem with a Hilton until I stayed here. Would never recommend it to anyone unless you are a spoiled disrespectful person who cares less about your close neighbors.. you will fit right in then.

No room service. No trash pickup. No clean towels available - we were told to use bath mats to dry off after bathing. We were there 3 nights! We notified the front desk and the general manager of the hotel - and they were no help. I was a loyal Hampton Inn visitor, but no longer because of this experience. Worst hotel stay ever!!!

We were so disappointed in our experience recently having stayed at this property several times in the past. Our past stays were very enjoyable but not this time. Upon arrival, we noticed that the grounds were kept up and beautiful and the desk clerk welcoming. It went down hill from there. The hotel is in dire need of a deep cleaning. The carpet in the hallways and in our room were heavily stained and appeared to have not been vacuumed in some time. Only one of the two elevators worked and the floor of the elevator as well as the floor of the breakfast area in need of mopping. In our room, we found that the pump for the bath gel did not work nor was there any conditioner in the dispenser in the shower. Again, a reflection on the housekeeping. Particularly bothersome was we were given a note upon checking in around 2:00 PM that the water was not safe to drink. When we returned to the lobby around 3:00, we were told that the water was now safe. I asked about the ice in the ice makers and was told not to use it since it was made with unsafe water. I asked if the ice makers would be purged and was told there was no one with maintenance on the property on Sunday but was assured the machines would be purged first thing Monday morning. Of course this did not happen and when we checked out late Monday morning, there was still no ice for consumption purposes. As further indication of the overall attitude, when asked about ice, the clerk told us we could go to a gas station and buy a bag of ice. I don't think hotel guests should have to do so. I don't blame the hotel for the water problem but do for their failure to take care of their guests. On the subject of "guests", I noticed a car in the parking lot in which an individual was seated for an extended period of time when we checked in Sunday afternoon. On Monday morning, several young men came into the breakfast room and proceeded to pack their pockets with food and piled food onto plates. They walked straight out of the hotel to the car which was parked in the same place and sat down on the ground in the parking lot with their backpacks and ate their food while discarding their trash making a mess. One left walking with his backpack and the other got into the front seat of the same car where he remained for an extended time. As a retired **** prosecutor with over 35 years of experience, I was very suspicious of this activity and brought this activity to attention of the front desk clerk who walked outside and then returned and told me the driver was a "guest" at the hotel. I was able to watch this activity from our room window and well as from the parking lot and it is certainly of concern for my family's wellbeing if allowed to go on, "guest" or not. The clerk was honest with me in saying they have to "no trespass" people all the time. I hate that this property is in the condition it is in since it is much closer to family than the other Hilton properties in South Lakeland but we will make the short d

Make sure to check on your loved ones if you have family who stay at this property. Michaela who works the front desk over night shift will have other “important” duties to do around the hotel instead of answering the phone when hearing it ring. Get a hold of someone staying there if you need to call this property before 11 PM and after 7 AM. She will not answer the phone. Jessica, find someone better who takes pride in their job and do what their job description says they are required to do, which 1, is to answer the phone when it rings. I shouldn’t have to call the hotel 10 times and for no one to answer. There could have been an actual emergency and she didn’t have the decency to answer the phone.

This is the third Hampton Inn we have stayed in in Florida in the last 10 days. I have to say that I have been disappointed in all three. Hampton Inn used to be a reliably decent hotel. Two of the rooms smelled dirty (Tarpon Springs and Lake Wales). In this particular hotel, the room looked clean but it was not. My shoes stuck to the floor in the bathroom so I had to wash the floor. When I got in bed the pillow smelled like greasy dirty hair--obvious not changed from the last guest. I had to clean the bedside table. The dirty pillowcase was my last straw with Hampton Inns. I know it is hard to find help but Hilton needs some quality control. At least the front desk staff was very nice.

I have just made a reservation to stay for a week at the Hampton Bartow. (this will be the week following the big aviation convention called "SUN & FUN". I was quite surprised to see, in looking at the review summary, it got only two stars. I find it hard to understand that - going thru other guests reviews confirms they shared my experience; simply an outstanding place in every respect.Certainly not the cheapest in the area. But in this part of Florida, it is certainly true "you get what you pay for".
