Recently we stayed one night with family at the magnificent Heritage Hotel – Fort Khejarla, located about 75 km from Jodhpur. This 400-year-old red sandstone fort / now heritage hotel is excellant blend of Rajput architectural elegance with beautiful jharokhas and delicate lattice work. The fort derives its name from the sacred “Khejadi” tree, which, as per the local legend, once protected it from powerful Mughal attacks. The property continues to be owned by the descendants of the erstwhile Jagirdar of the princely state of Jodhpur. The accommodation at Fort Khejarla is divided into two distinct categories – one set of rooms housed in the original heritage wing, retaining its old beauty and another in a newly modified section within the fort, offering modern comforts preserving the fort’s traditional character. To be clear, this is not a five-star luxury property, but rather a heritage experience rich in history and culture, We found the staff to be exceptionally polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. At present only vegetarian food is served in the hotel . Mr. l R Meena , General Manager), Mr. Lovebeer (Chef), and Mr. Dungar Ram (Manager) — make their best effort to make stay of the guests comfortable and memorable. It is a wonderful property to experience the grandeur and heritage and the serenity of rural life — all in one unforgettable stay 😄👍

A must visit place for those who love historic places located right in the middle of an old village and to have a royal feel with kind hospitality in typical Rajasthani way. Amazing location, wonderful service and hospitality, well maintained rooms and pool. Highly recommended to all.

It’s my first time to stay in a real fort with its own history. Although the place is equipped with all modern facilities to ensure the guests’ comfort yet the building is not changed or tampered with. The staff, guided by the owner, did their best to fulfill our wishes and grant us the weekend we were looking forward. I love the location among small villages with their hospitable villagers. I highly recommend this place and I’ll definitely visit again.
