The room was very dark even with all lights on, curtains open. We were easily viewed from other rooms above. Ice maker on the level we stayed did not work. Attempted to order room service, waited an hour before calling front desk. Then was told they would put a rush on my order.. 40 minutes later, still no food. $35.50 for a chicken sandwich with automated tip and room service charge. Also bathroom light flickered, never fully turned on.

Spacious, well equipped suite, with separate living room, full kitchen , in-room washer dryer, big-screen TV, in a gorgeously restored architecturally significant building, set in the heart of the newly revitalized downtown. Upscale shops, dining, sports arenas, refurbished movie palaces within walking distance. BUT… no heat in our room for first 24 hours, with staff that didn’t seem to be able to address or even remember the problem AND it took 10 minutes to get hot water and only after loud banging and shuddering from the pipes. In short, the hotel excelled on the high-end extras, but flunked the basics.

Great Downtown Detroit Hotel Option
Overall, I loved the hotel. Quite nice. Only comment is that only one of the mere two elevators was working. One seemed to be stuck on floor 10.
