We had an overnight stay en route to Scotland. An excellent find! Very clean and comfortable, and Ann was a friendly and welcoming host. We felt very much at home. Conveniently located, with a car park on site, and a short walk into the town centre. Breakfast was cooked to order, and set us up for the day. I would be happy to stay here again.

Anne went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful even when she was full her friend vandra got in touch with her as we were stranded and had no where to stay and she opened her arms wide to accommodate us. She is such a beautiful soul 💖 and we shall be back thank you Anne xx God bless you 🙏

A warm welcome from Ann, and a beautifully clean room with a stunning shower room . The beds are very comfortable and very peaceful. Breakfast is amazing , the full English, all locally sourced, an assortment of cereals ,toast , and some lovely juice, pots of coffee and tea , you certainly won’t go away hungry!

A wonderful nights sleep!
Arriving at Bongate we wondered about the road noise...but our room overlooked the beautiful gardens and the field and was really peaceful.
Breakfast was delicious and service attentive. Thank you for a lovely stay

Great stay
Nice big king size bed which was very comfortable and great pillows. Good sized room (8) on ground floor with large shower. Very quiet and not disturbed by any outside noise. Good selection at breakfast of hot and cold foods.

We were provided with a lovely spacious room to and a big double bed. Enjoyed an early night after walking from Kirby Stephen. The breakfast room was beautiful, catching the morning sun. Breakfast was beautiful and plenty of it. Our hostess was lovely, and spoilt us.

Had to attend a funeral last Friday.The owner of the guest house picked us up at the local station on Thursday evening as we arrived late. First class rooms, hearty breakfast and a charming host.Saturday morning, Anne drove us to Appleby station to be informed that trains are not running because of adverse weather, so would miss our connection at Carlisle. Don’t worry says Anne,il drive you to Penrith which saved the day. Many thanks Anne, you’re a star.
