Beautiful setting having a lake all to themselves, adequate/good lodge to stay in, free use of canoes/rowing boat etc. Evening meal very good though breakfast was just average. Long country track to access.

Not worth the effort
The chalets themselves were fantastic. Very clean and unique. The location itself was 30 minutes up a dirt track, which was not worth the effort when exploring the Wells Gray National Park. The restaurant was overpriced with an uninspiring menu. The complex has no shop to buy supplies and the cafe operates on limited hours. The breakfast was the worst we have had in Canada so far, with staff taking bin bags out through the restaurant. This place could be magical but it feels half-baked. We asked advice from the front desk and was advised to speak to the tourist information and google things. If you’re looking for a base for exploring the area, look elsewhere.

We stayed in a two bedroom cabin. Spacious, modern and well equipped. The resort is lovely and very quiet. Nice lake for some easy canoeing, and some forest paths. There is a restaurant for evening dinner, as well as a more informal area for food. Book the restaurant early, it tends to get full. The two bed cabins are a few hundred metres up the hill from the lake in the 200 and 300 blocks. They have a view but it's in the distance. 200 are closer than 300. We ended up at the back of the site, which was lovely and quiet. Even then it was only a pleasant 15 mins walk to the restaurant (or you could drive).

We really enjoyed our stay at Alpine meadows. The pet-friendly nature of this resort worked very well for us. We really enjoyed our cabin, and the boathouse for breakfast and dinners.

We stayed at several units due to multiple bookings. Cabins 203 and 204 are really great and updated though towards the end of the resort. Unit 126 is quite the opposite, very outdated on all aspects being no a/c, very old kitchen and the same with respect to the bathroom. The terrace view, though, is better at unit 126 than units 203 and 204. Breakfast in Alpine is not great and basically consist of Kraft and Kelloggs product. Further, the breakfast area is really crowded since breakfast closes at 9 o’clock. I guess they want people to leave / check-out as soon as possible in order to fix rooms to next round of people. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense to have breakfast done so fast. By the way, no cell phone coverage at all at the compound. The resort has a lake with canoes, paddle boards etc for guests to use free of charge which was a major bonus. Finally, the resort is located 30-35 minutes on mainly unpaved roads from Clearwater city where is the city you need to go to for food, shops and gas.

酒店回复: Hi Claus,Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback — we really appreciate hearing from our guests, and we’re glad you enjoyed your time in Cabins 203 and 204! They’re definitely some of our favorite units too, and we’re happy they worked well for your family at the start of your trip.We understand that your stay involved a bit of shuffling when you decided to extend — and we truly appreciate your flexibility. Since our 2-Bedroom Log Homes were fully booked for the additional nights, we did our best to find a solution and offered two Chalet units instead. While our Chalets are cozy and fully equipped, they are a different style of accommodation and fall into a lower price tier than the Log Homes, so we understand it may have felt like a change in overall comfort.Regarding Chalet 126, you’re absolutely right — our Chalet units don’t have A/C. We always let guests know at check-in and share tips on how to keep the space cool, like keeping blinds closed during the day and opening windows once the evening breeze rolls in. Our team also offered to move you to an A/C unit the next day, but we completely understand your choice to stay put rather than switch again. As for breakfast, we made a recent change to shift the hours earlier, from 7:00 to 9:00 AM, after many guests asked for something that better matched early departures and check-out times. During peak periods — like your visit, when we had over 120 guests on-site — it can get a bit busy, and we’re actively looking at ways to help the flow feel smoother. We’re glad you noted the free use of lake amenities like canoes and paddle boards — they’re definitely a highlight for many of our guests! Thanks again for your comments. We’re always listening and looking for ways to improve, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for a more seamless and relaxing experience.Warm wishes,The Alpine Meadows Resort team
