I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this hotel. As a beginner skier, I had booked a group lesson but struggled to find the meeting point. A kind hotel resident suggested I use the hotel lift, so I went to the reception to ask. Instead of a polite response, the receptionist immediately started shouting at me in an extremely rude manner. I had already walked quite a distance and was in a lot of pain. I tried to explain my situation—I was visibly shaking and had tears in my eyes—but she showed no empathy and continued yelling before kicking me out. I completely understand that hotels have policies, but basic kindness and human decency should still apply, especially in the hospitality industry. The alternative route she forced me to take was a steep slope, which took me 20 minutes to walk down, causing me to miss my lesson entirely. This experience left me shocked and upset. I would not recommend staying somewhere with such unwelcoming staff.

Very poor tour hotel. Nice location and view from a balcony. There was very dangerous ice infront of main entrance to hotel. I asked ladies at the reception desk to solve it and they said it is impossible to clean the ice. They didn't even try co clean the ice all the week we stay.

Residence Odalys Tourotel currently have two types of apartments, Refurbished and non refurbished. Crystal Ski have exclusive use of the refurbished apartments, so if you want a refurbished apartment you have to book with Crystal Ski. Also the Crystal Ski rep is in the lobby most nights to help you with anything, holiday related. The check in time is 17:00 pm, but you can leave your luggage in the the luggage room. The hotel staff take your phone number so they can call you when your room is ready. I found the hotel staff to be very friendly, but I didn't need to speak them more than twice. That was just about checking in / out. (You leave your keys in the mailbox outside next to the front door when you leave fyi.) If you have hired equipment go get your skis/board pronto, the shop (SKISET) gets very busy and the staff are super nice and take the time to measure you up to make sure you get the right equipment, i did not feel rushed. They ski shop will try and sell you insurance for 15 euros, but unless you are prone to loosing boards / skis perhaps save the money... Val Thorens is a bit pricey. If you are super keen to hit the slopes and 17:00 pm seems like an eternity, there is bathroom in the lobby where you could get changed. The outside door in and out to the slope is unlocked, leave your boots off until you get there, the hotel has signs up sayings its a 30 euro fine if you are caught in the lobby with boots on... IF you get caught though : P. I decided I was super keen for a coffee and food. I found that in most places in the town and on the slopes a cappuccino would cost about 6 euros. I also had a burger, sweet potatoe fries cost me about 18 euros. When your apartment is ready the hotel staff phone you. They take a deposit about 160 euros and give you sheets and towels that are packed in dry cleaner bags. Personally I liked this as meant that the towels and bedding sheets were clean. Some hotels will just make the bed up without cleaning the bedding. So which would you prefer? Also you wont likely be making you bed up right away as this is your living / dining area. Takes 5 minutes, and once the sheets are on the duvet (2 duvets) and pillows (4 pillows) you can just store the bedding in the cupboards or the chest which also doubles as a bench seat. The apartment I stayed in had pillows and a duvet in cupboards and loads of utensils , fridge, coffee maker, kettle. TIP if you are a coffee drinking, the machine takes the small filter paper, buy it and bring it with you. The Grey Sofa is one bed and underneath it there is a second that pulls out. Both are singles. Probably not comfiest bed / sofa I have slept on, but i think as the week went on the minor injures and just general aches from the snowboarding all day made it more noticeable for me. Again its not uncomfortable, I think its more so that I am use to sleeping in a double bed. I found the apartment nice and warm, and at no point was I cold in that apartment. I was on
