I am profoundly disappointed and frustrated by the handling of our recent late arrival. Despite having proactively contacted you to inform you of our delay, and receiving reassurance that our late arrival would pose no issue as someone would be available to greet us at midnight, the reality was entirely different. We arrived at 11:40 PM—slightly earlier than anticipated—only to find that Joanne’s mobile phone was switched off, leaving us with no means of contact and no accommodation ready for us, all while travelling with three young children. This level of negligence and lack of communication is utterly unacceptable and reflects extremely poorly on your commitment to customer service. Such disregard for your guests’ well-being is both shocking and deeply disappointing. You should feel ashamed of the substandard experience you provided, which fell drastically short of even basic expectations. We are scheduled to stay at your hotel again tonight; however, after reading numerous negative reviews echoing similar concerns, I am seriously reconsidering this decision. My one regret is not having reviewed these warnings beforehand. I urge you to address these glaring issues promptly and take meaningful steps to restore the trust and confidence of your guests.

Worst place to book. When we arrived it was dark everywhere. There’s a sign on the door to call the owner. No one there to great you or show you around, it took fifteen minutes of standing in the rain calling before someone answered in an annoyed tone. On first glance the room was enough for a one night sleep. However, there was no toilet paper in our bathroom which was the first red flag. My partner tried getting the tv to work which is said to have a fire stick. There was no firestick and the cable cord was broken. Shower had not been cleaned and had previous guests belongings. No towels were provided. Decided to just get in bed as we had a long day travelling to find the sheets filthy. At that point we knew we couldn’t sleep there. It felt extremely unhygienic. I immediately messaged the owner to which I never got more than a “ we strive for better than this and I’ll speak to housekeeping/maintenance” I asked for my money back as I had to rebook somewhere else very last minute and was told that I would receive a full refund. After weeks of chasing them for that refund they changed their tune and are now saying that it’s a non refundable booking. Which I would understand if I didn’t show up. But I did and had to leave for my own health and safety. It’s not as it is described. Steer clear of this place at all cost!

The beds were dirty, the pillows stained, and the wardrobe in the bedroom was broken. The walls were covered in mould, paint was peeling off everywhere, and the entire place felt completely neglected. The garden looked unkept and full of random, unsafe objects — definitely not child-friendly. The bathroom was disgusting — cracked toilet seat, no hot water, and unfinished repairs all around the kitchen. The pool looked nothing like the pictures — it was dirty and clearly not maintained. And many other things …you will see in the pictures. We contacted the host regarding the lack of heating in the room (we were staying with three children: a 1-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 10-year-old). The response we got was shocking — he said, "It’s August, it’s summer, you don’t need heating." Totally unacceptable and inconsiderate. The property felt unsafe for children and completely unfit for a comfortable stay. When we expressed our concerns and asked for a refund because we refused to stay, the host hung up the phone on us. Avoid this place. It’s nothing like what’s advertised and should not be listed as a rental. I truly hope this situation can be resolved as soon as possible. I believe it’s only fair to receive a full refund, considering the condition of the property and the experience we had. I would appreciate clear communication and a solution that reflects the inconvenience and discomfort we went through.

I cannot believe Easyjet uses a "hotel" like this for its customers when flights are cancelled. The level is far too low. Easyjet booked the hotel for me after cancelling my flight and sent me the booking confirmation. I showed up and it was impossible to find a way to get into the property. I was forced to get help at a different hotel who called the owner and helped me inside. We both struggled for a long time trying to find a way in - Rude host. When I brought a concern such as there were no sheets or the fact that my door wouldn't close, the host became defensive and rude. I spent 30mins arguing with the host to provide some sheets for me to sleep on in the bed. The bed also had bedbugs, and I got bite marks all across my face the next day.

This was one of the most peaceful stays we’ve had in a long time! The property is close to Gatwick but feels like a world away, nestled in the picturesque Surrey countryside. The self-check-in was smooth, and the team was available whenever we needed assistance. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, Hazelwick House is a fantastic choice!

Hazelwick House is a dream come true for anyone who loves historic homes and peaceful retreats. The house is beautifully maintained, and the outdoor spaces are simply stunning. We spent our evenings enjoying alfresco dining, thanks to the well-equipped outdoor kitchens. The hospitality was outstanding, making us feel like valued guests from start to finish.

Absolutely avoid !!! Rude owners, filthy place, Riddle with dirt and the whole thing needs to be completely refurbished. Joanne, the owner was obviously drunk and clearly can’t handle accommodating for people. Kitchen areas in a state no human should ever have to cook in! Completely unfit for use!!!
