We had a wonderful holiday in Boscastle and we really enjoyed the YHA. First off it is in a beautiful and unique location. Our private room was clean, quiet, warm and very comfortable. The lounge area was very cosy and the kitchen was spotless and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and were available only for a few hours throughout the day, but that was absolutely fine. There is a small corner shop in the village and it had everything we needed for breakfast items. There are some really nice cafes and restaurant for lunches and dinners. Thank you for another memorable and lovely YHA stay!!

The check in is only between 5-8:30pm. I arrived at 9pm and luckily I called beforehand and the reception lady waited for me. The staff is very friendly. Everything was very clean. The kitchen is big and can allow 3 groups cook at the same time. The surrounding is serene. The river in the front provides natural white noise day and night, good for sleeping.

We arrived later than expected around 9pm. There was a notice on the door saying staff had gone home and we would have to stay somewhere else at very short notice. A guest staying there told us she was not to let us in even though we had paid well in advance. We had a family group of 5 and therefore no accommodation. They did not reply to an email and their phone number had no answerphone. There is no emergency YHA contact phone number or anybody on duty anywhere. We luckily found another place to stay over night at our expense. We have begun a dispute with them to recover costs we incurred. The service was poor and no apology from staff.

Stay at YHA Boscastle
Lovely two night stay in YHA Boscastle. The receptionist was super helpful in suggesting places to eat etc. The room was clean and functional and there were plenty of bathrooms nearby.

Amazing venue and height of summer but we paid way over the limit for a night in a hostel.
Lady we met was lovely.

Absolutely brilliant! We snagged a great deal on a private room for £35 and it was fab. The location is beautiful, our room had everything we needed including a wardrobe, sink, and lovely views, the communal areas were clean, tidy and comfy and the kitchen had everything you need. The bathroom was nice, more like a home bathroom than a usual shower cubicle type in some hostels. Things to note: There's no parking so you'll park in the carpark but its not very costly for 24hours ( around £6 I think) and only 5 - 10 mins to walk. Take your own towels as usual in a hostel and tea/coffee etc... Lots of lovely places to explore nearby, some fantastic walks inland with old churches and some great hills, and the coastal walks of course, and pretty shops, cafes and restaurants so a nice little weekend spot. Definitely worth a visit if you see a good deal room. I personally wouldn't pay more than £40-£50 but i'm tight so thats probably just me.

A lovely little hostel, in an absolutely perfect location. Fab staff & good self catering facilities. Would recommend & definitely stay again. Fab cliff top walks & dramatic scenery all around. A great base to explore the North Cornish coastline.

Not just an incredible stay for a hostel but comparable to the kind of stay I’d have expected from a 5-star hotel. One of the best accommodation experiences I’ve ever had and I’ve spent years travelling the world. The team are there during check-out and check-in times and always treated us as friends. Our room was right by the river and we slept with the sound of that or the sound of the tide coming or going which was heavenly. Boscastle is beautiful and we spent each day walking for hours and the evening eating delicious food in the local pubs, restaurants and cafes. We couldn’t have had a more perfect stay, thank you Boscastle YHA!
