We always welcome feedback, but we must correct the serious inaccuracies in your account so future travellers see the true picture.Booking vs ArrivalYou booked (and paid for) a Triple Room for 3 adults on 1 Nov.Four adults arrived at 23:00—3 hours after our stated check-in window and with zero prior notice of the extra person, despite three automated emails asking for arrival time and party size.Had we not been present to open the door, the fourth guest would have entered unnoticed via our key-box.“Booking error” claimYou never mentioned any “booking error” on arrival.The exact words spoken at the door were:Owner → “You booked for 3, but 4 have arrived.”Guest → “Can we just pay extra for the fourth?”No apology, no admission of mistake—only a request to bend the rules.The £40 chargeWe offered two fair options:• Pay £40 (half the published room rate) for the extra guest, or• Move to the fully-vacant hotel directly opposite, which we phoned and secured on your behalf.The group leader rejected both, declared £40 “too much”, and claimed the street was “dangerous” despite it being a quiet, well-lit Lake District village high street.OutcomeThe three polite guests accepted the triple room they had paid for.The fourth guest chose to leave with the one politely lady accompanying her.No one was refused shelter; no one was left in the rain.Safety & discriminationEvery guest—regardless of nationality—is treated exactly the same: one paid bed = one guest.Suggesting otherwise is untrue and damaging.We run a small family guesthouse and rely on honest bookings.Sneaking in an extra person at 11 pm is not a “mistake”—it is a breach of fire regulations and insurance.We are glad the leader of ladies reached safety across the road and hope they enjoy the rest of their UK trip—perhaps with a more considerate travel companion next time.Warm regardsWe are a Chinese family owners Windermere, Cumbria
酒店房间很好好,干净设施齐全,晚上也很安静,房主很热情,还告知了最好风景的位置,步行大概30分钟的山顶高处能看到整个湖景。
伦敦人娶了马来西亚华人老板买了这套物业开的民宿。热情,小舅子会讲粤语和普通话,热情友好,主动介绍附近景点和路线。值得好评!
在这里住了两晚,非常感谢。酒店离车站很近,步行即可到达。附近有很多餐厅、酒吧和超市,非常方便,但周围又非常安静,让人感到放松。步行也可以到鲍内斯,不过回来的时候需要上坡,所以我们选择了坐巴士。
酒店员工非常友善,乐于助人。他们不仅告诉我们如何前往附近的景点,还帮我们把行李箱搬到了三楼的房间。
房间是个阁楼,很可爱,房东帮忙搬了大箱子,入住很方便,火车延误,房东一直等我们。离火车站近,走路5-8分钟方便。
小屋很干净,很英伦风。房间虽小,五脏俱全。就是离火车站有点远。
我们因为火车晚点,晚上十一点才到温德米尔。外面又冷又下雨,民宿门口有一个行为异常的女人,不停地试图和我们说话,还叫我们到外面的栅栏外去。她穿得奇怪、神情不正常,整条街一个人都没有,我们真的被吓坏了。
好不容易进到民宿,我们很诚恳地说明确实是我们这边订房出错,四个人订成了三人房。因为太晚也没有车可走,我们态度非常好地请求能否多付一点钱,加一间房或补一个人的费用。
前台工作人员态度冷淡,说房间满了。我们继续解释可以多付一些钱,只要能让我们暂时留在一起休息。拉扯了很久,老板才出来,说如果要多住一个人必须加收 £40(而这间房一晚才 £80)。我们非常礼貌地问了一句,能否便宜一点,比如 £30 可以吗?结果老板立刻翻脸,态度极其恶劣,说那就不让我们住了,让我们去对面旅馆。
我们又吓又累,一再道歉,也表示愿意付全额 £40,但老板仍然态度强硬,不肯让我们住。他甚至开始和我们争辩,说:“温德米尔从来没有犯罪的人,怎么可能有危险?我去过北京和上海,那些地方才不安全。” 这句话充满了歧视与轻蔑,让人震惊。整个过程他对我们不屑一顾,好像在嘲笑我们害怕。
最后还是多亏对面旅馆的老板好心接待了我们,我们才有地方落脚。
这次经历是我人生中最糟糕的一次住宿:恐惧、无助、被歧视、被羞辱。
希望其他游客,特别是外国游客,一定要避开这家店。
中国的同胞们要入住的话请谨慎,discrimination较为严重,通过平台和酒店沟通之后酒店方依旧颠倒黑白,说是我们不愿意出额外住客的费用,种族歧视加经营不诚信,避雷避雷!!!
这个价格能住到这样的酒店真是太划算了!房间可能有点小,但里面设施一应俱全。更何况,你大部分时间都会在外面,被鸟儿、鸭子和羊群环绕着,真是太棒了。
如果您想住在湖区,强烈推荐这个地方。房子靠近温德米尔火车站和温德米尔图书馆,这让我们乘坐巴士探索非常方便。非常干净,设施齐全,而且加里在推荐方面帮了我们很多!下次旅行还会再来!
房东人很和善,会讲中文,虽然说是不能帮忙寄存行李,但还是帮忙看管了,很感谢,房间很复古,很喜欢,交通也蛮方便的,离温德米尔火车站走过去十几分钟,会经过很多便利店和饭店
