Staff was very courteous but the hotel was under renovation and there was no warning given. It’s always frustrating to show up expecting to be able to use a pool onsite only to find out too late that it is closed. On top of that, the construction was loud at times. Wouldn’t be an issue if there were some sort of discounted rate given the construction.

The staff were all great. The lobby and restaurants were beautiful. The room was in dire need of attention. Stained carpeting and curtains. The balcony had a great view but in poor condition. Valet parking fees were unbelievable. $50 per night turned into about $85 after taxes and fees not including tips. Pool and roof area could not be used due to construction. Location was great but not worth the cost.

Parking was blocked off all day and no communication on how to get to it. Found out they’re changing out the pool this year. Crane was being assembled right beside the hotel. Wasted a couple of hours driving around the place to find out I had to drive down a one way to get to the parking. Hotel is run down bad looks rough. Only 1 elevator running the entire stay. Room had stains in the carpet and was pretty awful looking. This is a classic New Orleans hotel that used to be awesome but has seen better days. Hotel needs an entire renovation…not just the pool.

I paid for my room in advance. Get there a little before check in and was told I couldn’t get a room because it wasn’t clean and I needed to wait 20 minutes. Twenty minutes became 30. Went back and was told I needed to wait if I wanted a clean room. Check-out is at 11am and check in is at 4pm. Clearly not my fault. I asked for the hotel manager and she was polite but she asked for another ten minutes and then gave me a key to room where they were still cleaning Ana closed the door in my face. I didn’t even know they were in there until I heard a vacuum!! I was there to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was ruined. I cried because I remember the last time I came there the hotel desk clerk tried to embarrass me with how I paid for the room. And I said then I would never come back. So that’s my fault for not trusting my gut but I liked the location. I asked for a refund. I came to the Hotel Monteleone, which has OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! I will be reporting this hotel to the BBB AMD ANY OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PMATFORM I CAN FIND. The way I was treated was disgusting and humiliating and if you don’t want black peoplw in your hotel all you have to do is say it. I will never ever ever ever come back. I sat there and watched everyone else get their rooms at 4!
