Nice place for a pit stop during a long travel, the room was SO clean, I don’t think I’ve seen a legit cleaner room

We stayed at the Princeton, Illinois Comfort Inn in July of 2025. It had only been opened as a Comfort Inn for two weeks. Though there were some small construction projects going on, the General Manager, Neil, plus staff Raj and Deprise made our stay very enjoyable. Deprise was also compassionate when we had to extend our stay because of an illness. Liliana, head of housecleaning, made sure our room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be returning to this hotel when we visit our extended family again.

Clean, fresh and comfortable. Staff was attentive and went beyond their duties to see to our needs even driving us to the train station to save us a three mile walk! Breakfast was great, even the eggs were prepared as needed not just left in the pan to dry out. A GREAT experience!

Poor shower
Newly remodeled rooms and shower, but shower doors were installed wrong so then water goes all over the bathroom floor. Told manager about it three times but they never fixed it. It was a shame all new and water leaking everywhere

We checked in to this hotel but it was apparently undergoing construction and we believe not ready to open. There was a problem pulling up our reservation and confusion on if there would be a room ready but we were the only car in the parking lot. A room was finally found but when we walked into the hallway it was stifling hot as was the room. We turned on the air conditioning that had been turned off on a 90 plus degree day and it was weak. The smoke alarm was hanging off of the wall with wires hanging out and no mechanism attached. The WiFi code did not work and so we decided to leave. At some point this could be a good option of a hotel but it was opened too early and not fully comfortable. There were still construction materials in the hallway and by the elevator and a heavy paint smell in the hallway and room.

This hotel was recently refurbished and we really loved the rooms, the bedding, even the towels were excellent. The manager at check in was very nice and pleasent to chat with just a great experience.

This hotel just opened, replacing a rather nasty Days Inn that was previously on the site. In fact I had the feeling I was the first person to stay in the room I was assigned. The hotel is well located. While its right off I-80, noise from the freeway is minimal. It's next door to a Wendy's, and various other restaurants are nearby. The hotel was pleasant enough, but I got the feeling they'd rushed to open before they were really ready. There was still construction dust in the hallways, and several rooms had checklists on their doors of things that needed to be completed before they could be used. I had to remove film covers from the TV screen (which included the model's energy rating) and the sink, and a water guard on the shower door had not been properly attached. Perhaps most annoying was that even though there is a large breakfast room, they were not actually serving the standard Comfort Inn hot breakfast. Instead the desk clerk offered a bag that contained a packaged muffin and fruit and a small tub of yogurt. Coffee was available, but there appeared to be no juice. They have the equipment and supplies to serve a full breakfast buffet, and hopefully that will be available soon. This looks like it could be a nice midrange hotel, which is something that would be a welcome addition in Princeton. Sadly it's not there yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance to stay there again after they've worked out their initial issues.

Just. Wasn’t ready to be booked I think
The breakfast had very limited choice.
