Went here for a special weekend. Wow. Dinner (costs extra) was exquisite. Breakfast was stunning The owners treat you like family.... Not the family you Dread going too but the one you cannot wait to see again. This is an absolutely stunning old house that has been remodeled to exceed anything charging twice as much. The owners just cannot be more accommodating. The rooms are perfectly decorated and roomy and comfortable. The bed was perfect the bathrooms are unbelievable. Good water pressure, quiet and realizing

The Gillen House was a special treat. My wife and I wanted to stay close to Athens GA but also wanted it to be close enough to Atlanta. We picked a winner. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, went far and above to make us feel welcomed and at home in their beautiful B&B. The room was excellent. Very clean with a very comfortable bed. If you want peace and quiet and relaxation, this is the place to choose. Breakfast was excellent. They offer a dinner menu and we opted for the steaks. Edward knows how to prepare a meal. Steaks cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. A very wonderful place with a great location. We definitely hope to come back and we definitely recommend.

The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

This was our 2nd time staying at the Gillen House and we booked there again this summer because we loved the comfort and hospitality after our stay last summer. Our room was large and cozy with beautiful art work throughout. For breakfast we were given choices, and we enjoyed the fresh fruit (fresh picked blueberries, and figs from the tree outside) along with home baked zucchini bread that arrived with fresh scrambled eggs. We were invited to visit the beautiful garden where there were many vegetables growing along with herbs and grapes. We hope to get back to Maxeys again soon just to be able to repeat our fabulous experience at Gillen House with Cynzia and Edward who are wonderful hosts!

Gillen House B&B was an excellent choice for attending our Son’s Graduation. Edward and Cynzia are delightful hosts and have thought of every detail to maje our stay wonderful. There beautiful home is very comfortable and spacious and the grounds are breathtaking. Our accommodations were very comfortable and peaceful. We have already made another reservation for the fall and as soon as next years reservations open up we will book again.

What a fantastic B & B. Edward and Cynzia are your hosts and you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. They greet you and give you a tour of their beautiful property. The home is gorgeous filled with period pieces and Cynzia’s art (some is for sale, by the way). Only four rooms and each has its own bath. The gardens are a show piece with flowers, open spaces and their own vegetable garden. They are in the midst of renovating a barn on the property to complement events held on the property. Edward’s culinary ski;s are outstanding: breakfast is very nice but, by reservation, he will also serve you an outstanding dinner for a modest cost. Convenient to Athens (30 to 45 minutes away) depending on where you might be going). It is an understatement to say we enjoyed our stay and enthusiastically recommend The Gillen House.

Not much to add that hasn't been said already. Edward and Cynzia are amazing hosts. Our stay was the result of my father-in-laws passing. Edward and Cynzia couldn't have been more caring, compassionate and patient with us as we navigated through this difficult time. The food was delicious and filling We experienced both a dinner as well as multiple breakfasts. The house and grounds are beautiful and clean. We look forward to staying here again.

Our room was beautifully decorated and had a very comfortable bed. Shower pressure and Wifi were strong! Edward gave us a tour of his beautiful property and shared the history and told us stories about the amazing artwork. Breakfast was delicious. A truly unique and charming experience in a peaceful setting, I highly recommend!
