I had heard of the Cossimbazar property a long time ago and had been wanting to visit for a very long time. I must surely give myself the choices of abuses for having delayed this long in visiting such a pearl among stays. The palace is beautiful and the service is exceptional. The food leads me to paroxyms of delight. Each and every corner of the palace is exceptional. But nothing prepares you for the exceptional music played by the owner Pallab Roy in the evening on the Grand piano. He is truly exceptional. This trip was too rushed and I definitely need to head back just to soak in the place...

We travelled to Murshidabad in December to see some of the historic places there. A google search for a heritage home for our stay, led me to the Palace of the Roy's at Cossimbazaar which is at a slight distance from Murshidabad Station. We loved our time at this heritage stay. The place was full of helpful and courteous staff who ensured that our stay was comfortable. A day trip to the points of interest in and around Murshidabad was arranged on request. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had the privilege of making our acquaintance with Mr. Pallab Roy, the heart and soul behind this Palace. He is an extremely talented pianist and most graciously regaled any enthusiastic listener with tales of his time and childhood spent in this home. The palace grounds were full of greenery and a well-tended garden. I would love to be back some day and would highly recommend this place.

A heritage property with many original rooms. Staff helpful. This was not a busy property when we visited which is a shame as I presume the room lettings help with the ongoing upgrade of this lovely old property.

Founded in the second half of the 18th century sometime around 1730 to 40, expanded over the centuries, built, rebuilt, restored this Cossimbazar Palace of the Roys -Rajbari breathes history and lives it! Across generations from the founder Raja Ajodhya Ram Ray ,to its present day custodians Shri Prosanta Kumar Roy and Shri Pallab Roy , continues to nurture and cherish this beautiful work of art, this monument of history breathing through time. This perhaps is the only Palace which has been restored solely by its very own custodian , Shri Pallab Roy... designing the restoration singlehandedly, not only repairing various areas but aso converting old muddy courtyards into spacious living areas and presenting a beautiful Heritage Hotel to the public at large. It is pertinent to mention that Shr Pallab Roy also restored Netaji's car (Wanderer) and is immensely passionate about all restorations This historic monument is a glorious connnect across 4 centuries, waiting for you to be a part of it. Beautiful spacious rooms with antique furniture, wonderful food, and warm hospitality makes your visit unforgettable

We two senior citizen couples had stayed there from 16th to 18th February’24. It had been a very nice experience to spend those two nights. The room facilities were very good ***** with all their attending people. Buffet Breakfast was complementary & was fairly good. But some more varieties of items may be included / added. Lunch, dinner & evening snacks were available as per the Menu List and were very tasty. Being senior citizens we have some observations: In the bathroom near the shower, some rack should be there to keep the soap, shampoo & other items. Apart from the above, a plastic / wooden stool should be provided for the elderly people. We had already told these things to Mr. N.Ghosh. Apart from the above, we were very satisfied & will again plan to visit there.

Wonderful experience. Stay, food and service was great. Everyone was so eager to help and took great care of the needs of the guest. There was an element of personal touch in the holiday. As if it was not a paid stay but a personal invitation. There were carefully curated experiences for the guests. The stories associated were so intriguing that would make you crave for more. Make sure you keep at least 2 days to enjoy the property.

It was co0mpletely unpanned visit to this palace hotel which is maintained by the owner.. built in 1730's it has been many battles and subsequent damages to the structure but the whole palace has been resurrected to a lovely place for couple of days stay ..I have had the opportunity to meet the owners who were travelling from Kolkata and i was amazed to hear so much of history behind this ancient 300 yr old palace built during nawabs of bengal's where ruling before mughal's and britishers came to India...
