Our experience was horrible from the moment we arrived. The lobby had a disgusting smell that smelled like something died. I asked the manager several times what was that smell and she said it was taken care of. I also asked the staff and they said how terrible it was and work in such bad conditions. I told them if I had to work there I would be wearing a mask . I would not advise anyone to stay there because of that terrible odor. Every time I had to get off the elevator and go through the lobby I had to use a cloth over my nose. Terrible experience. It smelled like the horrible smells on dirty Bourbon Street.

Let me just start by saying that my experience has been worse than it has been good! We were sold this dream of luxury, premium service, and stress free ways to vacations when we signed up for our timeshare that we have with Bluegreens Club. But boy, what we have been handed is more like a never ending string of disappointments and that string keeps getting longer and longer! This last stay at The Marquee in New Orleans? Terrible. We are premium card holders, which is supposed to mean something right? That is what we have always been told anyways. Late check-ins, top-tier rooms, better service? Apparently not. Because when we arrived, not only was the room not clean. But the front desk staff made it seem like we were the ones inconveniencing them. I’m sorry, is this the service we are paying a lot of money for? Because I didn’t sign up for the attitudes! We were waiting on our premium benefit. We weren’t asking for a red carpet (although for what we pay at this rate, maybe we should!) but to be flat out denied a perk that’s supposed to be included? It is unacceptable. The lobby was even musty to where it felt damp almost. Fans blowing the entire time we were there which I guess were supposed to be drying something? No signs, no apologies, just the sad whirring of disappointment echoing through the place. It felt more like a basement than a vacation resort during our stay. And you may think this is one bad experience. But this isn’t a one time issue here. This has been a pattern at multiple Bluegreen resorts and the way you are treated when vacationing. Promises made, promises broken. The "premium experience" is more like a premium headache. At this point, I feel like we have invested in a lifetime of chasing down the bare minimum instead of enjoying the vacations that were promised to me and my family. We have paid too much, we have invested too much, and believed too much in a timeshare that clearly doesn’t value its customers once the ink is dry. Do better, Bluegreen Club and The Marquee. Because right now? You are not and have not given what promises you made to us!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe on the 16th floor. The room was clean (minor dusting was needed but not a big deal). The ice machine in the frig was not working but there was an ice machine down the hall. I was not bothered by street noise (maybe because I was high up) but the area is not the best at night so would not venture out alone. The beds were super comfortable so slept well. When you arrive go to the garage to the left of the entrance ( they will see you and open the gate) and park on the 3rd floor ( which is free) and then go down to the lobby to register. The staff was very helpful and gave a lot of insight for the area. Was asked to do a review of course and took “no” after a few times. Went to the roof to check it out. Pool was in the small side and was slightly disappointed the fire pit was off but it was windy so it might have been on the side of caution. Enjoyed my staff and would come again.

This hotel is very uniquely decorated. If you like haunted-like hotels, then this is the place for you. It had a speakeasy vibe in the hallways but the rooms were very modern, spacious & comfortable. The balcony we had was very small but we had a great view of Canal Street. The hotel had it's own parking garage & was within walking distance of Bourbon Street & lots of shops & restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

Let’s start with the positive. The location was great. Free parking was helpful. But from everything we’ve been told from my dad (who is a timeshare member), we expected more and the service and property itself was underwhelming. Even he said the service at this hotel was below what is to be expected and he has experienced in the past. For reference, we stayed in a two bedroom/ two bath suite for 4 people. The floors in the room were filthy. Our feet were black from walking on them. The room need some maintenance. Our bathroom sink was leaking where the faucet met the counter and made the whole back of the sink wet. Towels were old, stained and had holes. We put used towels outside our door to get fresh ones, but we often did not get replacements. There were several times we had to go down to the front desk ourselves to get new ones. One of the desk agents told us it was a 1 for 1 towel exchange. And at one point, we didn’t even get towels, we were given bath mats instead. The guests in the room above us were extremely noisy. We suspected they had kids who were constantly screaming and running back and forth at all hours. We notified the management/front desk several times but the noise continued and even increased throughout our stay. Management didn’t seem to care. There are no full length mirrors in the unit. I had to walk to the elevator to check myself in a full length mirror. There were limited places in the unit to sit and lounge for four people. And the sitting areas that were available were not very comfortable. The garage attendant sometimes wasn’t paying attention and we had to get out of our car to ask to open the garage to park our car. If we ever go back to New Orleans, we will stay somewhere else.

We had a wonderful stay celebrating my husband’s birthday and Halloween and was our first time staying at this Bluegreen resort and better than their other resort in the French Quarter. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, full kitchen and includes a washer and dryer in each unit. The hotel incudes free and safe parking and this hotel is close to the French Quarter and restaurants.

For our visit to New Orleans, we stayed seven days at the Bluegreen, Marquee Hotel on Elk Street. I had the blessing to have my own room and my friends stayed at a two-bedroom one. Both were spacious, nicely decorated with all the comforts included. Each unit had their own washer and dryer, fully-equipped kitchen, and comfortable bedding. The building had about 17 floors with a so-called pool on top. Honestly, to me it was more like a giant bathtub. I believe the idea for its unique decoration throughout was to give you the impression you were inside a once famous theatre inhabited now by mere ghosts. It had a nice-sized, whimsical courtyard with lots of places to sit on, a fire pit to roast marshmallows over, and a table surrounded with chairs on a swing. The service couldn't have been more professional and attentive at every step of the way. The hotel was conveniently situated right across a streetcar stop, and another one right around the corner. As far as the location, and its surroundings, it was part of the business district, and it was definitely much safer than staying anywhere else north of Canal Street within the French Quarter. The town itself is not safe for a female solo traveler. To say you visited this area is best to do so in a group. If you manage to plan a trip, there are more than plenty of cafes and restaurants close by to walk to and enjoy their food.

This is a new property in BlueGreen Vacations and my In-laws are owners. We thoroughly enjoyed this property and would visit it again without any hesitation. The property was unique and quaint that is characteristic of New Orleans, and the rooms were beautiful. The décor was upscale and interesting and the beds all very comfortable. Everything was thoroughly clean and pristine. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely stay at The Marquee if you are visiting New Orleans.

I found the Marquee through VBRO. It just be a timeshare situation because we were asked to sit in on a “presentation” when we arrived. We declined. So that aside we thought everything else was great. The front desk staff and security were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. A nice cross between hotel room and apartment with everything you could need, including a full kitchen and laundry. We loved the location since it sits on a bus and trolley line. It was easy to walk out the door and immediately catch transport to the French Quarter. Everywhere we wanted to go was within a 15-20 walk or bus ride. We would stay here again!
