The Hummingbird Inn is the perfect place to stay. Sandra and Jeff, the innkeepers, treated us like old friends—they were warm, attentive, and full of local knowledge. The rooms, beautifully decorated, offered comfort at every turn. Each morning, we enjoyed a breakfast made with loving attention to detail; it was absolutely delicious! We are thankful for a great stay. Steeped in history, the Inn began its life around 1780 as a trading post for travelers. Step back in time and enjoy a wonderful Inn—book your stay today and experience it for yourself!

Beautiful and relaxing place to visit. Sandra and Jeff are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was delicious. Enjoyed listening and watching the train pass in front of the inn. There are many lovely spaces to sit, relax and unplug. Comfortable beds and top notch hospitality. We will definitely return.

Immaculately clean and very hospitable hosts. Be aware the train at night can be a bit noisy, but it adds a little something to the uniqueness. We would certainly return.

Wonderful home on beautiful grounds. Wonderful cazebo overlooking a creek boardering the rear of the property. Sandra met us shortly after we arrived inviting us in like family with a tour of the house and our room. Breakfast was marvelous with all you could want.

After 20 years, my husband and I made a return trip to the Rockbridge/Bath Co area for our 23rd wedding anniversary and selected The Hummingbird Inn in Goshen, VA. What a wonderful weekend getaway and a LOVELY inn. Located between Lexington and Warm Springs, we found it convenient to the things we wanted to do/see in both those towns. Goshen is a very small town, you won't be walking to stores or restaurants, but that's the point. The area is so peaceful. The inn's hostess, Sandra, is energetic and welcoming. More than once she said "please make yourself at home" and that was easy to do. Our room was comfortable, great towels, pillows and sheets. There are multiple places on the property to relax. The gazebo by the creek was great, we sat on the wrap around porch, we reclined on the couch in the family room and sipped coffee in the solarium. Sandra and Jeff provide so many little touches that show they think beyond just providing a bed and a meal. When we entered our room Sandra had an anniversary card and chocolates on our dresser, which was a thoughtful gesture. The breakfast each morning was a feast for the eyes, so delicious and included many locally sourced ingredients, some from the inn's property. The inn was very clean and the property was very well maintained. The train did roll by both nights and we found it charming, not disruptive. The property has an interesting history and Sandra is happy to answer questions; you can tell she loves her home and business. We will be return customers. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

We had a very pleasant stay. The house is beautifully maintained, and our room was very comfortable. Extremely clean bathroom, large tub, nice soap. We enjoyed a morning hike (after breakfast, of course) and nearby winery after my spouse enjoyed a soak in the tub while I read. Note that the location is not at all "in town," and it felt like a bit of a drive to dinner, but the house itself and gazebo perched over a large brook (small river?) more than make up for that. We'll definitely stay again.

Our first time staying at this beautiful Inn was 7 years ago and we absolutely loved Sandra, who is so welcoming, and the comfort we felt at the Inn. The multiple sitting rooms are so beautiful to enjoy tea, conversation, or cosy up with a blanket in front of a warm fire. Since then, we’ve talked about returning, and with our anniversary this month, everything fell into place to return. Our recent visit was just as wonderful as before. Sandra personalizes and put so much care into all the little details…names on a placeholder outside our room, a personal note written in an anniversary card with chocolates and candles, everything you could possible need for toiletries and even earplugs if the occasional train wakes you up. Breakfast is served at 9:00 around one family table, but coffee and scones are out by 7:00. We LOVE the gathering at the table and both visits have felt warm and inviting, walking away with a feeling of treasured connections. As Goshen is a small town in a beautiful setting, there is so much to do within a 30 minute drive…Lexington and Warm Springs (a beautiful small town and the Omni Homestead- a must do is the healing baths!). 1 hr away is the beautiful Falling Springs Falls, Humpback covered bridge, and the Greenbrier Resort.
