Staff always friendly and helpful room had a little trash on the floor when I arrived nothing serious. Pillowcases appeared stained need to be trashed Rooms was small compared to the room with double beds had king size bed overall good stay

The staff was great. The room wasn't what I reserved. Reserved a king, they said they over booked and gave us a 2 queen's room. They should have notified me in advance of arriving.

The walls seem too thin. I could hear my neighbor’s television every night until early morning hours. I had trouble sleeping due to this disruption.

Room was very very basic with wobbly cheap furniture. Ok (just) for an overnight stay but unsuitable for any longer stay. Think cheap IKEA-like furniture that wasn't well assembled and you will have a good idea of what it is like. There is inadequate insulation in the walls between rooms so you can hear everything which is amplified by the hard surface flooring. I like the concept of the glue down laminate floor but noise it amplifies should have been planned for when the place was built.
The hotel provides cleaning every other day according to room signage but we saw no evidence of that. Cigarette ashes in the hallway remained unattended to for the duration of our stay but guests learned to walk around them.
The over use of friendly written words on every surface becomes tiresome very quickly. The vinyl lettering on doors, windows, elevators each promising some sort of awesome fun experience mostly just reinforced the reality that the hotel did not deliver on these written promises. The squeeze bottles of soap and shampoo mounted to the walls were interesting especially with their touted promise of "soap saves lives". Gee mom really? They were trying for cost savings (for them) and likely succeeded in padding their bottom line. Guest experience with cheap noisy rooms, rude staff, and unclean common spaces were the reality for the guests.

We had a great stay! Our room was clean and comfortable, the property was very well maintained, we had absolutely no complaints at all. But the thing that really stood out to me was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Every single person I encountered at Tru by Hilton in Terrell was smiling and made an effort to speak or carry on a conversation. Half way through our stay I received a text from one of the staff asking how everything was going and if we needed anything. They genuinely seemed concerned that all of our needs were met. I don't know if all Tru locations are this customer friendly but I can't recommend the Terrell location enough. They're fantastic!
